3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Hinton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Rio! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Hinton misses. Rio fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hinton to the ground. Rio is now in Hinton's guard. Rio engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Hinton trying to keep a closed guard but Rio is proving a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michael Hinton. Rio is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hinton's half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rio is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hinton defends it well. Hinton looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rio wants to work for an arm triangle but Hinton is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hinton wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hinton uses from the top position. Rio is adopting a defensive guard. Hinton wants to stand but Rio has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Hinton trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Hinton being controlled here momentarily.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dave Rio. Rio slaps away a takedown attempt from Hinton, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rio throws a low kick but Hinton avoids it. Hinton looks to score with a jab to the body but Rio is just out of range. Michael Hinton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rio gets a takedown into half guard. Rio is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hinton is looking to stand up but Rio isn't so interested in that idea. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Rio's corner is telling him to maintain position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dave Rio hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Hinton lands a high kick!
It looks like Dave Rio has been cut. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hinton moves to clinch but Rio breaks away and Rio counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Rio is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hinton defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Rio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Dave Rio's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Hinton gets caught napping as Rio dives in and scores a takedown. Hinton manages to retain guard. Hinton keeping moving, preventing Rio from controlling successfully.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dave Rio wasn't active enough on the ground. Rio blocks the body kick.
Rio has a takedown stuffed. Rio feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Rio stops Hinton from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rio gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hinton throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rio has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hinton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Dave Rio has got the better of the ground game so far. Hinton looking very determined here, making life difficult for Rio.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Rio is looking for the choke from the back position but Hinton is controlling his hands well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hinton is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Rio biding his time, controlling Hinton. Michael Hinton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fire drives through and clinches with Summers against the cage.
Fire manages to break the clinch.
Fire closes the distance and pushes Summers back into the cage. Fire stops a takedown attempt from Summers.
Fire lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Fire rushes Summers and presses him up against the cage. Summers is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Summers is looking to take this one to the mat. Frankie Fire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Summers. Fire's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Fire connects with a body shot that sends Summers's belly button to the back. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fire lands with an uppercut that bounces Summers off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Luke Summers has been cut. Fire cracks Summers with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Summers looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Fire finish him?
Summers is rocked! Fire doesn't manage to clinch there - Summers circles away.
Summers is still on wobbly legs! Can Fire finish him? Fire wants to clinch up but Summers keeps it at a distance. Summers seems to have recovered his senses. Summers gets tackled into the cage by Fire. Fire maintains the clinch. Fire breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Fire fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Summers looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Summers shoots in but no luck this time. Summers looks winded! Fire forces Summers back against the cage and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fire lands with a light punch inside. The referee calls for Fire to work.
Fire pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Fire on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. OH! Summers has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Fire smells blood and charges in for the finish! Fire unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Summers sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Frankie Fire! Frankie Fire was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

and Enki counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Forrest Gryphen has been cut. Gryphen on the wrong end of a nice hook. Gryphen fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Enki is out of range. Enki lands a nice hook to Gryphen's body. Gryphen takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A punch combination from Enki misses. A jab lands there for Enki. Enki's corner calls for a 1-2. Enki obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Gryphen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Enki circles away quickly and effectively. A combination from Gryphen does no damage. Enki lands with a straight right. Gryphen didn't see that one coming. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Enki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Enki throws a series of punches but Gryphen moves out of range. Gryphen throws a body kick that misses and Enki makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Gryphen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Enki moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gryphen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Enki.

Gryphen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gryphen lands in his opponent's guard. Enki can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gryphen controls the pace. Gryphen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Enki is keeping the position for now. Enki is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Enki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gryphen wants to control from the top but Enki keeps moving. Enki is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Enki scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Gryphen throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gryphen tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Enki scores with a nice strike. Gryphen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Enki looks to land a left hand but Gryphen moved out of range nicely. Gryphen throws a leg kick that is checked and Enki counters with a left to the body.

Enki smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Enki throws a right and a left that Gryphen avoids nicely. Enki takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Enki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Gryphen throws a wild body kick that Enki sees coming a mile off. Gryphen tried to score with a low kick but Enki checks it. Gryphen moves out of range as Enki strikes. A punch lands to the side of Enki 's head but he takes it in his stride. Gryphen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Enki shoots in looking for a takedown but Gryphen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Enki's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Enki scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

and Enki counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jab from Enki. Gryphen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Enki fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Enki misses with a looping left. Gryphen tries a low kick but Enki avoids it. Gryphen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Enki is pulling down on Gryphen's head. It's preventing any offense from Gryphen, at least for the moment. Enki looking for a guillotine here but Gryphen defends easily.
Enki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gryphen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Enki keeping moving, preventing Gryphen from controlling successfully. Gryphen is really struggling to control Enki but he's trying to hold on to the position. Enki looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gryphen is defending well. Enki quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gryphen has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Enki celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

A looping hook to the body misses from Out. Dempsey does a little dance to reset his feet. Dempsey takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Out fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dempsey manages to avoid it. Dempsey blocks the body kick.

Out moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Out misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Out tries to bum rush Dempsey with a series of wild strikes but Dempsey uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Out lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dempsey backs up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Out tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dempsey is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Out. Out scores with a spinning back kick! Dempsey defending well as Out loads up on a big left hand. Out throws a sloppy head kick and Dempsey moves out of range easily. Dempsey moves away from the strike by Out. Out misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dempsey.

Dempsey is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Out walks into a stiff left hand from Dempsey. A good leg kick by Out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dempsey moves out of range of the body kick. Dempsey throws a right and a left that Out avoids nicely. Out throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Out tries to land a front kick but Dempsey steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Out throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A good leg kick by Out. Dempsey avoids the head kick by Out.
Dempsey has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Out finds it's way round the side to connect with Dempsey's head. Out tries a head kick but it misses.
Dempsey lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dempsey. Out slips a straight right by Dempsey.

Dempsey steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Out. Out fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Pelaez keeping full guard, as Woo tries to pass. Woo working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pelaez keeping moving, preventing Woo from controlling successfully. Pelaez being controlled here, momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Woo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Woo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Woo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pelaez's head. Pelaez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Woo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! Choake controls Tatsuhiko Jr momentarily but Tatsuhiko Jr frees himself.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Tatsuhiko Jr tries to work over Choake's front leg with a kick but Choake checks it. Tatsuhiko Jr throws a head kick that misses and Choake counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tatsuhiko Jr has his hands on Choake's head, controlling the position. Choake landing with the ground and pound.
