Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Giovanni Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muki Muki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batista kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Slipknot - Duality. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Giovanni Batista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Muki Muki! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Batista keeps the fight on the outside.
Muki closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Batista to the mat! Batista manages to get full guard. Muki trying to control the position from guard on top but Batista is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Muki is fighting to break Batista's control of his arms but Batista is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Muki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Batista keeping moving, preventing Muki from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Muki is stalling in the full guard.
 Muki Muki has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Muki gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Muki is looking for a triangle but Batista pushes his legs off easily.

Batista being controlled here momentarily. Batista slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Batista tries to free his leg and advance position but Muki is retaining full guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Batista trying to control but Muki is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 The ref stands the fighters back up because Giovanni Batista just wasn't active enough. Muki swinging wildly here.
Batista closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Batista lands in his opponent's guard. Batista trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Batista trying to control the position from guard on top but Muki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Batista has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Batista looking to sit in guard and control but Muki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Muki should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Horrible takedown by Batista or perhaps it was just good defense by Muki which made him look bad. Batista fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Muki lands a two punch combo.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Muki. Muki controlling the position. Muki tries to advance to mount but can't. Muki misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Muki is looking to take a break and control but Batista is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Muki cracks Batista with a big right hand but Batista just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

and Batista counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Batista throws an elbow that misses. Muki uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Batista's guard. Nice move by Muki! Muki working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Muki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Batista keeping moving, preventing Muki from controlling successfully. Muki advances position into side control! The referee asks Muki politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Muki prefers to stall for the moment though. Batista knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Muki on the ground.

and Muki counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Muki gets to his feet - Batista follows without any prompting. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Batista. Muki shoots for a double leg takedown but Batista sprawls well. He's pushed Muki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Muki is breathing heavily. Batista bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Muki is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Batista's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Muki regains full guard. Nicely done. Muki manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Muki lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
BOOM! Muki connects with a massive shot to the dome!

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Muki is pressing down on Batista's thigh, looking to free his foot. Batista is holding on for now. Batista tries to roll over but Muki keeps him under control. Muki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Batista keeps working.

 The ref stands the fighters back up. Muki Muki was stalling too much, according to the referee. Muki throws a push kick but Batista slaps the foot to one side. Muki Muki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Batista goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Muki throws a head kick that misses. Muki misses with a few strikes there.

Batista is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Giovanni Batista has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Batista is trapped and Muki is scoring with shots to the head and body.
And that's the end of the fight! Muki Muki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Muki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Fay throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Fay keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fay swats him away and circles back towards the center.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Santos fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fay looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Santos shoots in looking for a takedown but Fay manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Santos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Viny Fay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lyman Santos. Santos tries to clinch up. Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fay's waist but Fay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Santos fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Fay on the side of the head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fay keeps the fight on the outside. Fay circles away from the clinch attempt.

That was a close round but I would say that Viny Fay will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Dzoko moves to clinch but Miranda breaks away and Miranda counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Pain counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Pain bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Pozar stuffs the takedown. Pozar throws the left hand but Pain avoids the punch easily. Pozar might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pain moves away from the strike by Pozar.  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Summit tries to clinch but Pablo is having none of it.
Pablo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Summit, pushing him back against the cage. Pablo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Summit's efforts to push away. Pablo wants to take the fight to the mat but Summit manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Summit tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cristian Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Dankha. Dankha tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Dankha takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dankha looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Silva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dankha on his heels. He'll look to pass Dankha's guard now, I'm sure. Dankha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dankha has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dankha has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though. Silva trying to control but Dankha is working from the bottom. Silva preventing the sweep. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva wants to control from the top but Dankha keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Cristian Silva showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
