Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gionni Vitti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Hulskan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vitti might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Forever Young. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sasha Hulskan! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hulskan walks into a straight right hand from Vitti. A jab lands there for Vitti. Hulskan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vitti but Vitti pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hulskan shoots for a double leg takedown but Vitti sprawls well. He's pushed Hulskan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hulskan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Gionni Vitti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sasha Hulskan. Vitti takes a swing at Hulskan's ribcage but misses. Hulskan closes the distance but Vitti moves to the side letting Vitti counter with a right hand. Hulskan fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Vitti is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Hulskan or perhaps it was just good defense by Vitti which made him look bad. Vitti throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hulskan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Hulskan takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Hulskan closes the distance but Vitti moves to the side and Vitti counters with a nice body shot. Vitti misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Vitti throws out a powerful jab. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hulskan has eaten all the pies! Vitti cracks Hulskan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Vitti looks to land a combination but Hulskan avoids it well. Hulskan slips under a jab. Vitti is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Vitti takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. This has been an exciting period of action! Vitti throws a right and a left that both miss. Vitti is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Vitti lands a head shot. Vitti is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Hulskan tries to clinch but Vitti moves away and Vitti counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Gionni Vitti is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hulskan was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hulskan tries to move into range but Vitti moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Nice body punch from Vitti. Hulskan misses with a takedown attempt enabling Vitti to counter with a crisp jab. Hulskan defending well as Vitti loads up on a big left hand. Vitti with a nice cross. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vitti stuffs the takedown attempt from Hulskan. Hulskan gets slowly back to his feet. Hulskan walks into a stiff left hand from Vitti. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vitti lands with a right hand. Vitti will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hulskan tries to clinch but Vitti moves out of range. Good exchange - Vitti coming out on top. Hulskan pushes Vitti up against the cage in a clinch. Hulskan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hulskan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Vitti scores with a one two! Hulskan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Vitti throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hulskan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vitti throws out the jab. Sloppy strikes from Vitti. Those never looked like landing. Hulskan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vitti defends it nicely. Gionni Vitti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sasha Hulskan. Hulskan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vitti is fending him off so far but Hulskan persists. Nope, Vitti circles away and we're back to standing. Gionni Vitti is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Vitti bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hulskan's head backwards.

Sasha Hulskan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hulskan's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vitti connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hulskan scrambles back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Gionni Vitti showed his dominance in that final round. Well Vitti has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malsawmkima scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Malsawmkima trying to control the action but Trajan is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Malsawmkima wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Trajan, who protects the arm well. Trajan is working to avoid the ground and pound but Malsawmkima connects with a decent elbow. Malsawmkima throws an elbow but Trajan slips to the side and avoids it well. Trajan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Malsawmkima. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Malsawmkima decides to take the fight back to the feet. Malsawmkima doesn't succeed with the takedown and Trajan counters with a lovely straight right hand! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A combination from Trajan does no damage.

Malsawmkima gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Trajan to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Kusmetov wants to take the fight to the mat but Hugo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Hugo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hugo moves into the clinch. Hugo tries for a takedown but Kusmetov manages to get underhooks.

Hugo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kusmetov avoids it really well and circles away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Kusmetov is trying to pull guard but Hugo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Victor Hugo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Volkrav Kusmetov. Kusmetov tries to throw a body punch but Hugo avoids it by throwing Kusmetov back against the cage. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Hugo keeping full guard, as Kusmetov tries to pass. Kusmetov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hugo has his feet on Kusmetov's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Hugo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kusmetov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hugo's guard now. Wooooo! Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Kusmetov wants to stand up but Hugo has a hold of him and won't allow it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kusmetov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Volkrav Kusmetov has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hugo fails to land the takedown. No luck for Hugo with that takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kusmetov tries a head kick but it misses.

Come on Hugo, up you get! Kusmetov gets a double leg takedown into Hugo's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kusmetov stands up over Hugo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hugo wants to sweep but no luck. Kusmetov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Kusmetov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hugo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Volkrav Kusmetov. Hugo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kusmetov decides to stand back up. Kusmetov steps back and let's Hugo get back to his feet. Kusmetov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hugo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Kusmetov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hugo's half guard. Kusmetov wants to pass the guard but Hugo is defending well. Kusmetov stops Hugo from getting back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kusmetov is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Kusmetov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Scrappy throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Carvalho blocks it with crossed arms. Scrappy throws an elbow but it misses.
Carvalho drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Scrappy gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Scrappy tries to land knees in the clinch but Carvalho avoids the damage to the body. Carvalho is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Scrappy is defending well. Scrappy using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Carvalho has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Carvalho postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Scrappy looks a forlorn figure.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scrappy can do anything to dispel that myth. Carvalho postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Scrappy badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Carvalho around the waist but Carvalho pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Carvalho is the winner by TKO! Carvalho jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
