The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Bold closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jefferson Monroe circles away. Jefferson Monroe keeps the fight on the outside. Jefferson Monroe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but The Bold swivels and escapes. The Bold fails in his attempt to clinch. The Bold fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jefferson Monroe to the ground. The Bold is now in Jefferson Monroe's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Jefferson Monroe wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kelly's choice of entrance music: Flo Rida - Whistle. Georges St Pierre had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Max Kelly is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.
