0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, ZyD XyD I! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibson dives in and grabs XyD I's left leg, looking for a takedown. XyD I pushes down on Gibson's head and hops out. Mark Gibson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gibson keeps the fight on the outside. XyD I wants to clinch up but Gibson keeps it at a distance. XyD I ducks under a wild hook from Gibson. XyD I closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gibson circles away. XyD I shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gibson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in XyD I's guard. XyD I wants to improve his position but instead Gibson has moved into half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Nice strikes from Gibson there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gibson controlling the action here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if XyD I can do anything to dispel that myth. Gibson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We're going to have a standup here because Mark Gibson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. XyD I shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gibson sprawls well. Gibson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. XyD I gets slowly back to his feet. Mark Gibson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of ZyD XyD I. XyD I fails in his attempt to clinch. Gibson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Gibson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Gibson distracts XyD I with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibson advances to half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gibson lands a nice short elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. XyD I is looking to control Gibson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can XyD I avoid being mounted? Gibson controlling the action here. Gibson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mark Gibson just wasn't active enough. Gibson throws a shot from downtown. XyD I moves away and avoids it. Gibson looks for a takedown but XyD I sprawls well. XyD I shoots in for a takedown but Gibson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. XyD I tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gibson swivels and escapes. XyD I misses with a takedown attempt and Gibson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Gibson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. XyD I has momentary wrist control but Gibson slips an elbow through the middle. XyD I wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Gibson is now in half guard.

Gibson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gibson lands strikes from half guard. Gibson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Gibson sitting and controlling from the half guard. Gibson slips a nice elbow through XyD I's hands, connecting with XyD I's forehead.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Gibson content to control rather than advance. Gibson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks XyD I with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Gibson working the head and body with strikes. Gibson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Gibson scoring with strikes to the body and head. Gibson passes to side control. Gibson landing a few strikes. XyD I takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's six minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gibson staying calm. Gibson scoring with punches from side control. Gibson is putting a hurting on XyD I here, landing some big shots from side control. Gibson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused XyD I some visible discomfort.
Gibson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Gibson cracks XyD I with an elbow. That is naaassty. Gibson is chipping away with strikes.
XyD I taking punishment in the form of punches.
Gibson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear XyD I down.
XyD I looks winded!
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Gibson landing a few strikes. Gibson working the ground and pound. Gibson working the head and body with strikes. Gibson lands a nice forearm strike. Gibson in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. XyD I on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
XyD I is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gibson cracks XyD I with a big elbow. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Gibson landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. XyD I is still in real trouble! Can Gibson finish him? Gibson scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh XyD I is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Gibson can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Torres shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hoffer pinned against the cage. Hoffer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hoffer lands a nice looking kick to the body. Torres takes a step back to recover. Torres avoids the head kick by Hoffer.
Torres looks for a takedown but Hoffer sprawls well. Torres avoids a kick to the body.
A solid body kick from Hoffer. Hoffer misses with a kick to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hoffer.
Torres gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Torres moves out of range as Hoffer throws a body kick.
Hoffer lands a big head kick that sends Torres tumbling to the mat! Hoffer takes a step backwards and waves Torres back to his feet - he wants the finish! Hoffer looks for the body kick but Torres saw that one coming. Torres takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Torres is breathing heavily. A head kick misses from Hoffer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoffer pounces like a tiger and cracks Torres with a vicious hook! Torres is down but not out! Hoffer follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The crowd cheers as El Batal lands an impressive looking overhand right. Genius doesn't seem phased though. Genius tries to score a power double leg takedown but El Batal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Genius somewhat. Genius doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. El Batal tests Genius's chin there with a solid looking shot. Genius shoots in looking for a takedown. El Batal tries to sprawl out of it but Genius keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. El Batal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. El Batal lands a slapping body shot.
El Batal uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Genius has time to react. El Batal thuds a left hand into Genius's body. El Batal is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Genius shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as El Batal sprawls well. El Batal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Genius gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evil Genius. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! El Batal throws a shot to the body.

Genius gets slowly back to his feet. El Batal thuds a left hand into Genius's body. Genius is breathing heavily. Genius changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. El Batal tries to avoid it but Genius manages to keep hold of a leg and drag El Batal to the ground. El Batal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Genius shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. El Batal defends it nicely. El Batal scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Genius takes one on the chin but seems OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Genius takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Genius closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. El Batal scores with a jab to the body. Left hook, right uppercut from El Batal. El Batal lands with an overhand left. El Batal lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Genius at a distance.
El Batal connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. El Batal feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Geniuss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Genius on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Genius is rocked! El Batal drops Genius with a big left hand! Genius is injured, injured bad! El Batal jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

ZyD throws a sloppy head kick and The Table counters with a stiff right hand. The Table throws a leg kick and ZyD counters with a lovely shot to the body. The Table sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! ZyD scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. The Table doesn't seem bothered though. The Table is breathing heavily. The Table on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
ZyD throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. ZyD sends The Table crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! ZyD is motioning to the referee to let The Table up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
It looks like Gable The Table has been cut. The Table takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. ZyD lands with a kick to the ribs.
ZyD lands a body shot.
ZyD looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. ZyD lands with a nice body punch. The Table gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
