The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lorenzetti moves into the clinch. Arguello looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Arguello has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Arguello has had enough of the clinch but Lorenzetti keeps him there for the moment. Arguello lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

He turned his hip over nicely there. Alexis Arguello seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lorenzetti scores with a jab to the head.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adam Wojatzek! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wojatzek drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wojatzek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Severn keeps working. You can see the frustration on Severn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Severn tries to bench press Wojatzek off him but Wojatzek keeps the position. Severn is working hard here to advance position. Wojatzek misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Severn is looking to reverse the position. Wojatzek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wojatzek trying to control the action but Severn is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Severn can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wojatzek cracks Severn with an elbow. That is naaassty. Wojatzek tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Wojatzek tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Severn is trying to improve his position. Wojatzek creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Severn sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wojatzek is looking to take a break and control but Severn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wojatzek is putting a hurting on Severn here, landing some big shots from side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Wojatzek throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Severn works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Wojatzek wants to pass the guard but Severn is defending well. Wojatzek is taking a breather. Severn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Wojatzek moves into full mount! Severn won't be happy about that!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Severn is squirming around, avoiding Wojatzek's attempts to control the action. Wojatzek looking to land elbow strikes but Severn uses the position to regain half guard. Severn taking some punishment here, with Wojatzek in his half guard. Wojatzek throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Wojatzek is stalling here. Severn is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Wojatzek seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Severn has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Wojatzek manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Severn is staying active underneath Wojatzek, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Wojatzek is stalling here. Severn is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Wojatzek seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Severn has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Severn breaks Wojatzek's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Wojatzek is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wojatzek is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wojatzek trying to keep a closed guard but Severn is proving a slippery customer.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wojatzek is on top in guard.

Severn misses with a right hand and Wojatzek counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Wojatzek. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Severn is not content to let Wojatzek control the position. Wojatzek might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Severn kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Severn wants to improve his position but Wojatzek is controlling well.

That was a close second round but I would say that William Dos Santos will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
