The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drago moves into the clinch successfully.

Drago is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Emelianenko is defending well for now. Emelianenko controlling the action here for a moment.
Drago wants to break free but Emelianenko has control.

Emelianenko is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Drago will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Drago is trying to work for a sweep but Emelianenko has mounted him! Emelianenko controlling his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Thor Emelianenko was stalling too much, according to the referee. Drago tries a head kick but it misses.

Drago looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Drago wants to stand but Emelianenko has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Emelianenko seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Drago throwing strikes from guard but Emelianenko blocks nicely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Drago pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Nice takedown defense from Drago. No joy for Emelianenko on that attempt. Drago connects with a high kick. Drago looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Drago tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Drago has closed the distance and engaged Emelianenko in a clinch.
Emelianenko throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Drago blocks it with crossed arms. Emelianenko lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Drago jumps guard and drags Emelianenko to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Emelianenko looking to pass the guard.

Drago bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Emelianenko's guard. Drago wants to stand but Emelianenko is controlling his posture from full guard. Emelianenko pushes Drago off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko tries to keep at a distance but Drago has taken the fight into the clinch. Emelianenko keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Drago's efforts to push away. Drago is defending well against a takedown attempt. Emelianenko goes for a takedown attempt but Drago pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Robert Drago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thor Emelianenko. Drago throws a head kick but Emelianenko moves out of range.
Emelianenko instigates a clinch. Drago tries to circle away but Emelianenko has him pinned against the cage. Emelianenko dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Emelianenko tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko decides to pull guard. Drago would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Drago throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Emelianenko works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Emelianenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Drago is looking to work some ground and pound but Emelianenko has wrist control. Drago loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emelianenko is adopting a defensive guard. Drago throws a strike but Emelianenko rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drago is looking to stand up but Emelianenko isn't so interested in that idea. Drago is wriggling around but Emelianenko manages to pass to half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Thor Emelianenko hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Drago as he avoids it easily. Emelianenko tries for a takedown but Drago sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko drives through with a takedown into guard. Emelianenko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Drago is keeping the position for now. Emelianenko won't allow Drago to get back to his feet. Emelianenko slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Drago is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Emelianenko controls from within his opponent's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MangKanor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Katakutan swivels and escapes. MangKanor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Katakutan makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. MangKanor throws a nice looking combination but Katakutan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nice sprawl there from Katakutan as MangKanor shoots in. Maximo Katakutan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of AkoSIii MangKanor. MangKanor takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Katakutan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Katakutan lands a head shot. Katakutan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. MangKanor tries to bum rush Katakutan with a series of wild strikes but Katakutan uses good footwork to avoid the assault. MangKanor throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Katakutan counters with a head kick that drops MangKanor to the mat! MangKanor scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
MangKanor is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Katakutan throws a powerful right kick. MangKanor tried to block low but the kick was high! MangKanor was taken right off of his feet! Katakutan jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Maximo Katakutan! A relieved looking Maximo Katakutan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Guey uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Desert has time to react. Desert closes the distance and clinches. Guey lands an uppercut. Desert tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Guey blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Guey swings wildly with an uppercut but Desert uses good head movement to avoid it. Guey lands a right hand. Desert throws a knee to the head but misses.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Guey creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Guey misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Guey lands a left hand that snaps the head of Desert backwards. Guey lands a body shot. Guey lands a body punch. Guey lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Desert backwards. Guey lands a hook to the side of the head. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Guey. Guey lands with a short head shot on the inside. A nice left hand lands by Guey.
Guey drops Desert onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Desert is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Oh Desert is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Guey scores with a shoulder strike. A nice left hand lands by Guey.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Guey. Guey creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Desert with a big uppercut! Desert tries to clinch up but Guey pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Desert to the mat! Desert covers up and Guey unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sisphar is looking to clinch. Sisphar tries to close the distance and clinch but Fire swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! The fight stays on the outside here - Sisphar looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Fire bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Fire scoring with punches and elbows. Fire has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sisphar being controlled for a moment. Sisphar avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Fire. Sisphar seems a little lost for a moment, as Fire dominates the positioning. Fire landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Sisphar takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Fire stands up and we're back to a striking position. Sisphar is looking to clinch. Fire changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sisphar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sisphar trying to remain calm as Fire controls from the top position. Sisphar looks winded! Sisphar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fire. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sisphar takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Fire slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Fire sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. Fire frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Fire content just to control the position here. Fire is in the full mount, landing strikes. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fire controlling from the full mount. Fire lands a nice shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
