Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Colt McLaren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dusan Kikovic! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McLaren jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kikovic misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McLaren lands a nice looking body shot.
McLaren misses the shot to the body. Kikovic lands a nice leg kick that just misses McLaren's sensitive parts. Kikovic looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. McLaren feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kikovic keeping full guard, as McLaren tries to pass. Kikovic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kikovic can't keep his opponent in guard - McLaren advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. McLaren thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kikovic's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLaren seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kikovic does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. McLaren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kikovic is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kikovic is staying active underneath McLaren, who seems content to just control the action from this position. McLaren not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McLaren missing with the ground and pound from half guard. McLaren throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kikovic avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McLaren. McLaren throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. McLaren lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. McLaren drops an elbow to the side of Kikovic's head.

McLaren is looking to take a break and control but Kikovic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kikovic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McLaren. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McLaren looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kikovic has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McLaren is working away from the top position though. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. McLaren thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kikovic's head. Kikovic is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kikovic is looking to control McLaren's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kikovic avoid being mounted? Kikovic is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McLaren's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McLaren's back! McLaren rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are battling for position here. McLaren manages to regain full guard. Nice work. McLaren is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kikovic is aware though and is defending well. McLaren is controlling Kikovic's posture. McLaren working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kikovic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kikovic manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kikovic trying to control the position from guard on top but McLaren is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kikovic is fighting to break McLaren's control of his arms but McLaren is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kikovic throws a leg kick that misses. Kikovic moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Kikovic slaps away a takedown attempt from McLaren, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colt McLaren. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kikovic feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to McLaren's calf. McLaren slips under a jab from Kikovic. Kikovic throws a sloppy head kick and McLaren moves out of range easily. McLaren fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A big left from McLaren misses. Dusan Kikovic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McLaren throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kikovic was covering up waiting for the punch and McLaren finishes the takedown easily into guard. McLaren stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kikovic swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kikovic wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. McLaren throws an elbow that misses. Kikovic uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McLaren's guard. Nice move by Kikovic! There's a bit of a scramble here and now McLaren is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! McLaren is in close to Kikovic's body, working some short punches and elbows.

McLaren throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McLaren trying to control the position from guard on top but Kikovic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McLaren throwing strikes but missing. McLaren drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McLaren jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kikovic is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McLaren is controlling him. McLaren throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kikovic works some decent striking defense from the bottom. McLaren loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. McLaren working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kikovic's head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McLaren throws a big right hand that misses. Kikovic is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McLaren is keen to just control but Kikovic is a slippery customer.

Kikovic avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McLaren. Kikovic is looking for a sweep. McLaren is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kikovic is looking to control McLaren's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kikovic avoid being mounted? Colt McLaren is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. McLaren tries for a takedown but Kikovic sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McLaren darts in and clinches Kikovic up against the cage. Kikovic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kikovic throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. McLaren throws a body punch but Kikovic moves out of range. Kikovic throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kikovic throws a low kick but McLaren avoids it. McLaren checks a leg kick nicely. McLaren bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kikovic's head backwards. Kikovic takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Kikovic throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Kikovic fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McLaren has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Jab by Kikovic. Jab by McLaren.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McLaren throws a jab but it's blocked by Kikovic. McLaren lands a really nice looking cross but Kikovic seems unphased.
McLaren throws a hook but Kikovic avoids it easily. Kikovic looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Kikovic is looking to chop away at McLaren's legs. McLaren lands with a nice body punch. Kikovic connects with a solid leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kikovic throws a hook but McLaren blocks it. A jab lands there for Kikovic. McLaren connects with a single shot there. McLaren misses with a looping left. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kikovic throws a hook but McLaren blocks it. McLaren misses with a wild body shot. Dusan Kikovic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! McLaren manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kikovic on his heels. He'll look to pass Kikovic's guard now, I'm sure.
And that's the end of the fight! Colt McLaren showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McLaren, winning every round. Will the judges agree? The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sandoval with a lazy takedown attempt and Dayz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. No joy there for Dayz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sandoval misses with a hook. Dayz ducked under it nicely. Sandoval throws a front kick aimed at Dayz's knee but Dayz avoids it well. A nice inside leg kick there by Sandoval. That's going to slow Dayz down. Dayz slips under a jab. Sandoval on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Sandoval throws a body punch but Dayz moves out of range. Sandoval misses with a looping left. Felix Sandoval seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Dayz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dayz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sandoval. Sandoval misses with a leg kick and Dayz counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Sandoval lands with a hook. Dayz tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Nice defenses there by Sandoval. Sandoval avoids a punch combination nicely.

The judges will like that one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sandoval throws a low kick but Dayz moves out of range easily.

Dayz tries to avoid it but Sandoval manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dayz to the ground. Dayz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Swag Fo Dayz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felix Sandoval. Dayz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sandoval was well out of range. Poor timing from Dayz. Sandoval looks to land a body kick but Dayz moved away. Sandoval pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dayz is out of range and Sandoval settles back down. Dayz misses the shot to the body. Sandoval fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dayz avoids it really well and circles away. Sandoval walks into a left hand. Dayz really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Sandoval looks for a takedown but Dayz sprawls well. Dayz turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Sandoval shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dayz pinned against the cage. Dayz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A chopping leg kick lands by Sandoval. Wooooo! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sandoval throws a leg kick that is checked and Dayz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dayz with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

He's persisting with it as Dayz sprawls well. Dayz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sandoval gets slowly back to his feet. Swag Fo Dayz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felix Sandoval.

Dayz lands a nice looking body kick. Dayz connects with an inside leg kick. Sandoval is trying desperately to land a takedown but Dayz is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Sandoval. Dayz misses with the combination.
Swag Fo Dayz is winning the standup battle so far. Sandoval ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Dayz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sandoval has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Sandoval's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. A good leg kick by Dayz. Dayz misses with a low kick. Sandoval throws a leg kick but Dayz sees it coming and checks it nicely. Sandoval misses with a wild body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dayz tries a low kick but Sandoval avoids it. Sandoval uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dayz. Dayz throws a front kick aimed at Sandoval's knee but Sandoval avoids it well. Dayz fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sandoval on the side of the head. Dayz lands a left and a right that send Sandoval crashing to the mat, dazed. Dayz thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Sandoval is rocked! Dayz jabbing away but nothing is landing. Sandoval is still on wobbly legs! Can Dayz finish him? Dayz lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Sandoval is looking to close the distance but Dayz sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Sandoval crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Sandoval is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pintor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Van Kirkland avoids it really well and circles away. Van Kirkland lands a nice leg kick that just misses Pintor's sensitive parts. Pintor shoots in looking for a takedown. Van Kirkland tries to sprawl out of it but Pintor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Van Kirkland manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Van Kirkland leaves Pintor with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lupe Pintor. That's going to take a lot out of him. Van Kirkland throws a quick inside leg kick. Van Kirkland's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Van Kirkland duly obliges. Pintor throws a head kick that misses. Van Kirkland lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Pintor chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Van Kirkland can pounce on him.

Pintor throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Van Kirkland. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Van Kirkland scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Kirkland stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Van Kirkland wants it to stay on the feet. Pintor throws a right and a left that both miss. Van Kirkland takes the fight into the clinch. Van Kirkland gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Pintor.
Pintor using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Van Kirkland has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Pintor throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Pintor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Van Kirkland but Van Kirkland pushes him off and we're back to square one. Pintor takes a kick to the side of the head. Van Kirkland throws a nice outside leg kick. Pintor looks to throw the jab but Van Kirkland is out of range. Pintor is trying hard to land a takedown here. Van Kirkland sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Van Kirkland lands a slapping body shot.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pintor crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Van Kirkland - the referee stops the clock and Pintor gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Van Kirkland. Pintor manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Pintor takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ronan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Meyers moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Meyers misses with a wild combination.
Meyers is looking to score with low kicks. Meyers shoots in looking for a takedown. Ronan tries to sprawl out of it but Meyers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ronan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Meyers is looking for a takedown here. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shields closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shields lands in his opponent's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Arabi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Arabi can't keep hold of the triangle and Shields manages to pass to side control! You can see the frustration on Arabi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Youngblood cracks the inside of Winnfield's front leg. Youngblood lands a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Youngblood. Winnfield does a little dance to reset his feet. Winnfield lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Winnfield misses with a looping left. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Winnfield throws the left hand but Youngblood avoids the punch easily. Winnfield blocks a leg kick. Winnfield fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Youngblood. A big right from Winnfield misses.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matt Youngblood. I think Winnfield has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
