The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dredd checks a leg kick nicely. Chopper leaves Dredd with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dredd has a takedown stuffed. Dredd tries for a takedown but Chopper circles away easily so Chopper counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Tony Chopper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Dredd. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Dredd avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dredd tries to land a sweep but no joy. Chopper trying to control the position from guard on top but Dredd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chopper scoring with punches to the head and body. Chopper looking to pass the guard. Dredd trying to keep a closed guard but Chopper is proving a slippery customer.

Dredd can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chopper is looking to escape. Chopper holds on to Dredd around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks. Chopper is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chopper tries to hold on but Dredd pushes him away. Dredd can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chopper is looking to escape. Dredd unloads with some shots from mount but Chopper bucks and avoids them well.
Dredd misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Joseph Dredd. Horrible takedown by Dredd or perhaps it was just good defense by Chopper which made him look bad. Dredd gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Chopper makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Chopper scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Chopper landing a few strikes. Dredd is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Chopper has just dragged him back down to the mat. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dredd is looking to regain half guard here but Chopper keeps moving and retains side control. Dredd struggling a bit here. Chopper cracks Dredd with an elbow. That is naaassty. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dredd has his takedown stuffed and Chopper counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dredd's guard now. Chopper scoring with some ground and pound. Chopper passes easily into side control. Nice work. Dredd takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Dredd is rocked! Chopper cracks Dredd with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Chopper immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Dredd is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Chopper!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter scores with a kick to the body.
Carter clinches. Onassis taking a breather. Onassis keeps control of Carter as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Carter is trying to force a seperation but Onassis has the dominant position. Carter wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Onassis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Onassis lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Carter throws a body kick that misses and Onassis moves into the clinch. Carter is fighting off a takedown attempt but Onassis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Carter to the mat. Carter regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Onassis passes Carter's left leg - he's now in half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Onassis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Onassis wants to pass to mount but Carter is defending the position. Onassis missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Onassis content to control rather than advance. Onassis working the head and body with strikes. Onassis seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Onassis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Carter defending well though. Onassis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Carter is looking to escape. Onassis controlling the pace. Onassis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Carter is trying to stand up here but Onassis is controlling him well. Onassis is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Carter!
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Onassis. Onassis is landing with some decent strikes but Carter is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Onassis with a couple of short strikes. Carter looks winded! Onassis lands a nice shot to the head.
Carter is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Onassis in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Carter is still in real trouble! Can Onassis finish him? Onassis controlling his opponent. Onassis lands a nice shot to the head. Onassis has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carter's face.
Onassis loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Carter scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Onassis land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Onassis stands and salutes the crowd.

Ryan throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Jaa takes one to the chin there. Ryan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jaa sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jaa defending well as Ryan loads up on a big left hand. Ryan keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Jaa tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Ryan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ryan misses with a double jab.
Jaa tries to clinch but Ryan moves out of range. Ryan throws a looping overhand right but Jaa ducks down to avoid it. Jaa's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ryan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jaa scrambles back to his feet. Jaa moves out of range of the strikes. Ryan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jaa tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ryan counters with a nice leg kick. Ryan looks to land a left hand but Jaa moved out of range nicely. Jaa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jaa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jaa tries to get out of the position. Ryan trying to control but Jaa is working from the bottom. Ryan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Ryan wants to control from the top but Jaa keeps moving. Ryan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ryan trying to control the action but Jaa is working from the bottom. Ryan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jaa rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ryan's guard! Nice work there by Jaa! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jaa defending well as Ryan loads up on a big left hand. Jaa ducks under a wild hook from Ryan. A combination from Ryan does no damage. Jaa closes the distance and pushes Ryan back into the cage. Ryan has hold of one of Jaa's legs. Jaa is fighting the takedown attempt but Ryan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Ryan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jaa looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Ryan thows a huge punch but Jaa dodges it nicely.

Jaa closes the distance but Ryan moves to the side and Ryan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jaa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ryan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jaa tries to clinch up. That's one minute gone in the round. Jaa is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ryan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ryan. Ryan shoots in but Jaa avoids the takedown attempt easily. Tien Jaa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ryan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jaa as he avoids it easily. Tien Jaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santos Ryan. Ryan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
