Vrade is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Medranda lands a lovely overhand right.
Medranda connects with a good right hand that stumbles Fist. Fist circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Fist shoots in looking for a takedown but Medranda manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fist's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carlos Medranda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hammer Fist.
Medranda steps in with a hook that catches Fist right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Medranda follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Fist looks absolutely devastated.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carver McNulty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Serge Savard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McNulty's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Still I Rise - Shadows Fall. Savard has chosen Voivod- Tribal convictions as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Carver McNulty has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Carver McNulty seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McNulty moves away.
Serge Savard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Savard lands with a nice body punch.

Savard darts in and clinches McNulty up against the cage.
McNulty misses with a short punch on the inside.
Savard working hard to break the clinch.

Savard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Savard has McNulty up against the cage in a clinch.
McNulty lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Savard is pressed up against the cage. McNulty has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Savard down to the mat. Savard avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

A solid body kick from Savard.
McNulty tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Savard paws at him with a jab and circles away.

McNulty tries to sprawl but Savard drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Savard stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows McNulty to get to his feet.

A big head kick from Savard and McNulty is sent sprawling to the canvas!

It looks like Carver McNulty has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McNulty is trying to control the position but Savard postures up.
McNulty tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Savard trying to control the position from guard on top but McNulty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Serge Savard.

Savard moves into range and clinches up with McNulty.
Savard prevents a takedown attempt there.
Savard is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Savard breaks from the clinch.
McNulty shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Savard pinned against the cage. Savard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carver McNulty. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Savard in particular looking to stall.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Savard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McNulty as he jumps to the side.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nice takedown defense from Savard. No joy for McNulty on that attempt.

Savard fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging McNulty to the ground. Savard is now in McNulty's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Serge Savard was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Savard tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Savard rushes McNulty and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Savard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McNulty is defended easily by Savard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Savard throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by McNulty.
Savard misses with a head kick.
Savard throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Serge Savard dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Carver McNulty's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A thudding body kick lands there by Savard!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McNulty crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Savard - the referee stops the clock and McNulty gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Savard. McNulty manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Both fighters circling a little - Savard finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Savard Throws a clean left jab. Savard Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with McNulty's chin! McNulty crumbles to the ground and Savard follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Savard!

A very excited looking Serge Savard made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
