10 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Schnitzer Schnitz! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schnitz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Schnitz can't do much from the bottom here. Johnson working the ground and pound from side control. Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Schnitz is defending well. Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Schnitz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Johnson scoring with punches from side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Schnitz dodges the ground and pound from Johnson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schnitz is not content to let Johnson control the position. Johnson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Schnitz has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Johnson but great work by Schnitz. Johnson pushes Schnitz away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Schnitz gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Schnitz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Schnitz working away. Johnson is looking to regain half guard here but Schnitz keeps moving and retains side control. Johnson gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson works his way to full guard. Good work. Schnitz throwing strikes but missing. Schnitz stopping the sweep attempt from Johnson. Schnitz engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Schnitz throws a big right hand that misses. Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schnitz on the ground.

Schnitz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Johnson is striking off his back. Schnitz thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Johnson wants to get back to his feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwarzeneg misses with a takedown and Gridlock counters with a good low kick that Schwarzeneg was not able to check. Schwarzeneg chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gridlock can pounce on him.
Schwarzeneg misses with a takedown and Gridlock moves into the clinch. Schwarzeneg has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gridlock after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Veli Schwarzeneg. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schwarzeneg tries for a takedown. No joy.
Gridlock lands with a right to the head. Schwarzeneg is trying to break the clinch but Gridlock has him pressed against the ropes. Schwarzeneg tries to pull guard but Gridlock won't allow it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A left hand lands to the body for Gridlock.

Schwarzeneg is rocked! Gridlock wobbles Schwarzeneg with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Gridlock dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Schwarzeneg to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Spanner checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Garcia swats away the attempt to clinch by Spanner. Mick Spanner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spanner rushes Garcia and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Garcia tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Spanner smiles and moves away.

That was a close round but Harvi Kalaso did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kalaso throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kalaso is keen to just control but Back is a slippery customer. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soderberg throws a leg kick but Katarin moved away. Soderberg misses with a looping left. Soderberg throws a leg kick which misses Katarin's front leg but catches the back leg as Katarin tries to avoid it. Soderberg throws a head kick but Katarin moves out of range.
Soderberg has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Katarin finds it's way round the side to connect with Soderberg's head. Soderberg lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Katarin swings for the body but Soderberg moves out of range.
Soderberg feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Katarin's calf. Katarin throws a shot from downtown. Soderberg moves away and avoids it. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Katarin is controlling Soderberg's trapped leg to prevent Soderberg from advancing to side control. Katarin is not content to let Soderberg control the position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Soderberg is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Katarin sees it coming and defends easily.

Katarin tries to buck Soderberg off but Soderberg is having none of it. Katarin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Soderberg jabs Katarin to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hjalmar Soderberg is winning the standup battle so far. Soderberg lands a leg kick that knocks Katarin off balance momentarily. Soderberg fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Katarin. Katarin lands a nice shot that snaps Soderberg's head back.
Soderberg lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Soderberg shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Katarin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Soderberg did well to prevent Katarin getting side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Soderberg gets back to full guard.

Katarin passes Soderberg's left leg - he's now in half guard. Soderberg is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Katarin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Katarin's back! Soderberg is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Katarin knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Katarin for a finish. Hjalmar Soderberg overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. A lull in the action here.
Soderberg is really struggling to control Katarin but he's trying to hold on to the position. Katarin is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Soderberg off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
