1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Viny Fay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Macena! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macena looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fay is fending him off so far but Macena persists. Nope, Fay circles away and we're back to standing. Danga de danga de dang - Macena scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like Viny Fay has been cut. Macena throws a series of punches but Fay moves out of range. Macena shoots in for a double leg but Fay sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Fay avoids the head kick by Macena.
Fay fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Macena avoids it really well and circles away. Macena throws a series of punches but Fay moves out of range. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Macena shoots in looking for a takedown but Fay manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Macena's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Viny Fay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Macena. Fay feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Fay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Macena doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Macena manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Macena throwing strikes but missing. Fay looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Macena working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Fay manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Macena manages to get himself to full guard.

Nice sprawl there from Macena as Fay shoots in. Macena works over Fay's head and body with a nice combination. Daniel Macena seems to be getting the better of the standup. Macena throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fay stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Macena throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Macena throws a series of strikes that have Fay backpedaling.

Fay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Macena preventing the sweep. Macena loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Fay is trying to keep Macena in close.
Macena drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fay looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fay looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fay! This has been an exciting period of action! Fay tries for a kimura but Macena is defending well. Viny Fay is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fay slows the pace down.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Viny Fay. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fay, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramera on the wrong end of a nice jab. Dragon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ramera to score an easy takedown into full guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Dragon has a closed guard, preventing Ramera from standing up. Ramera being controlled here momentarily. Ramera wants to get up but he can't break Dragon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Dragon wants to sweep here but Ramera controlling him for the moment. Dragon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ramera's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We're going to have a standup here because Bingo Ramera wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Dragon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ramera moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dragon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ramera tries to land a body kick and Dragon counters with a stiff right hand. Dragon with a nice cross. Dragon scoring well with a low kick there.
Dragon lands with a nice body punch. A punch lands to the side of Ramera 's head but he takes it in his stride. Ramera throws a lazy head kick and Dragon counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ramera wants to clinch. Ramera gets the takedown into side control. Ramera tries to advance to mount but can't.

That was a close round but I would say that Bingo Ramera will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith shoots in but no luck this time. Machida lands with a kick to the ribs.
Smith thows a left - swing and a miss! Machida misses with a straight right. Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Machida.
Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Machida swivels and escapes. Machida misses with a wild body shot. No luck for Smith with that takedown attempt. Machida scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Machida pinned against the cage. Machida gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Machida punishes Smith's body with a nice straight punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Machida sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Smith tries to move into range but Machida moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Machida connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Smith's hands. A slow jab from Machida misses its intended target. Smith throws a lazy uppercut
and Machida connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Nice takedown defense from Machida. No joy for Smith on that attempt. Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Machida sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat. Machida stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Machida wants it to stay on the feet.

Machida looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Machida avoids it really well and circles away. Smith is breathing heavily. Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Machida, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Machida against the cage but Machida circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Smith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Machida counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Smith shoots in for a takedown but Machida shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Smith sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Smith can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Machida is looking to escape. Machida tries to lock up and control but Smith gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Smith trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Elendil manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Elendil wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Elendil working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Vancan. Vancan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Elendil works some decent striking defense from the bottom. After the fight, Raider Vancan was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
