The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Kurdov blocks a jab.
Ninnagins takes a swing at Kurdov's ribcage but misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ninnagins. Kurdov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ninnagins throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ninnagins uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kurdov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ninnagins looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Kurdov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Colossus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Shirahama manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Colossus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shirahama's elbow.

Colossus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Shirahama is looking to get back to full guard here but Colossus has managed to pass to side control instead.

Colossus might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shirahama haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Shirahama manages to work his way to half guard, despite Colossus's best efforts.
Shirahama wants to control but Colossus is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Shirahama is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Colossus's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Colossus's back!
A lull in the action here.
Colossus tries to roll but Shirahama sticks to his back.
Colossus breaks Shirahama's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Colossus must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shirahama manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Colossus manages to get himself to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shirahama wants to pass the guard but Colossus is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Shirahama pivots, looking for a leg kick but Colossus is out of range and Shirahama settles back down.
Colossus moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Oooooh!!! Colossus has knocked Shirahama down with a huge combo! Colossus steps away and waves a wobbly Shirahama back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Shirahama is rocked!

Colossus moves in close and cracks Shirahama with a massive right hand! Shirahama, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Colossus!

Jt Colossus was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
