3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Harry Rutten! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Connor throws a body punch but Rutten moves out of range. Rutten falls off balance throwing a combination
and O Connor counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rutten's knee momentarily. O Connor misses with a lunging right hand
letting Rutten counter with a right hand. Jia O Connor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. O Connor thuds a left hand into Rutten's body. A punch combination from O Connor misses. O Connor dips to his left and cracks Rutten with an uppercut!
It looks like Harry Rutten has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! O Connor shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. O Connor showed some decent athleticism there. O Connor wants to pass the guard but Rutten is defending well.

O Connor is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. O Connor is keen to just control but Rutten is a slippery customer. O Connor is really struggling to control Rutten but he's trying to hold on to the position. Rutten avoiding damage under a succession of punches from O Connor. O Connor prevents Rutten from standing back up.
O Connor is trying to control. Rutten wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rutten tries to get to full guard but O Connor has control of the leg. O Connor has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Rutten defend it? O Connor steps over the head and cranks it - Rutten is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for O Connor!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swanson drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Swanson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Swanson stops Ioda from standing up. Swanson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ioda swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ioda lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Swanson! Swanson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zanta will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Obasi tries to clinch but fails miserably and Zanta counters with a nice double leg into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Obasi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Zanta throws an elbow that misses. Obasi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Zanta's guard. Nice move by Obasi! Zanta will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Zanta manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Obasi manages to get himself to full guard.
Obasi is looking to stand up but Zanta isn't so interested in that idea. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Zanta throws a big elbow that misses. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zanta connects with a nice short shot to Obasi's temple. Zanta slips a nice elbow through Obasi's hands, connecting with Obasi's forehead. Zanta seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Obasi is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor lands a jab to the nose. Taylor tests McDiggler's chin there with a solid looking shot. Taylor lands a nice hook to McDiggler's body. McDiggler takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Taylor stuffs the takedown. Taylor connects with a nice looking jab.
No luck for McDiggler with that takedown attempt. McDiggler shoots in but Taylor avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnson McDiggler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Taylor misses with a straight right. McDiggler shoots in looking for a takedown but Taylor manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McDiggler's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. McDiggler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Taylor but Taylor pushes him off and we're back to square one. Taylor catches McDiggler with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McDiggler avoids a punch combination nicely.
Taylor lands a really nice looking cross but McDiggler seems unphased.
McDiggler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Taylor but Taylor pushes him off and we're back to square one. Taylor misses with a series of wild punches.
McDiggler fails to land the takedown. Taylor connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor misses with a wild body shot. Taylor cracks a nice hook into McDiggler's ribs. Taylor throws a shot to the body.
McDiggler throws a wild hook but Taylor just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! McDiggler gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the ropes! The referee jumps in - Taylor raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Meldrick Taylor! Meldrick Taylor really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Blood Bank ($10) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

Jonsson can't hide his disappointment, as Langford celebrates the victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weeonu avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fitch looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Weeonu tests Fitch's chin there with a solid looking shot. Weeonu closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Knees to the body from Weeonu.

Weeonu manages to break the clinch.
Weeonu throws a right and a left that both miss. Weeonu pushes Fitch up against the ropes in a clinch. Weeonu looks to throw an elbow but misses. Weeonu with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Weeonu rushes Fitch and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Weeonu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Weeonu tries to clinch there but Fitch circles away.

Weeonu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fitch moves out of range as Weeonu throws a body kick.

Weeonu rushes Fitch and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Weeonu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Weeonu closes the distance and clinches. Weeonu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The fight moves into the clinch position. Weeonu lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Weeonu closes the distance and clinches. Weeonu lands a nice knee to the body. Weeonu lands a good knee to the midsection. Fitch won't want to take too many of those. Weeonu unloads a knee to the mid-section. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Weeonu breaks the clinch.
Fitch takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Weeonu throws a nice head kick!
Fitch walks into a jab. Weeonu sends Fitch crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Weeonu is motioning to the referee to let Fitch up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Fitch is rocked! Weeonu has closed the distance and engaged Fitch in a clinch.
Oh Fitch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Weeonu trying to land knees to the body.

It looks like Jon Fitch has been cut. Weeonu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Weeonu rushes Fitch and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Weeonu lands a nice elbow. Weeonu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fitch doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Fitch seems to have got his legs back now. Weeonu has closed the distance and engaged Fitch in a clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fitch takes an elbow to the temple. Weeonu manages to break the clinch.
Weeonu closes the distance and pushes Fitch back into the ropes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shekan Weeonu dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jon Fitch's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Fitch looks for a takedown but Weeonu sprawls well. Weeonu feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Fitch sprawling to the canvas! Fitch rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Weeonu finish him?!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Weeonu and Fitch are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Weeonu throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Fitch into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Weeonu knows it - he's on the ropes flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Shekan Weeonu! Shekan Weeonu was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

Putra misses with a takedown attempt and Thomas counters with a solid body kick. Putra shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Thomas's guard. Thomas controlling the position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. Putra stays in close to Thomas's body and controls the position. Thomas looking for a guillotine here but Putra defends easily.

Thomas wants to finish this one by submission but Putra is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Thomas. Thomas controlling the pace for now. Putra is in all sorts of trouble here.

Putra is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Thomas has control of Putra's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Putra regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Thomas looking to control but Putra is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thomas sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Putra wants to control but Thomas is having none of it. Thomas is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight!
