The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schantl lands with an overhand left.
Schantl does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Head darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Head seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schantl does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Head throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Head not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Head throwing shots but Schantl is blocking nicely.
Schantl is looking to improve his position.
Head scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Head is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Schantl doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Head.

Head thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Head is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Head uses his free foot to push down on Schantl's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Schantl.
Schantl knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Head on the ground.
Schantl is bucking up trying to escape but Head cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Head tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Head looking for a guillotine from mount but Schantl is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schantl tries to reverse the position but Head maintains control.

Schantl holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Head tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Schantl is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Head is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Schantl to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Schantl shrugs it off.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Head looking to ground and pound but Schantl is blocking nicely.

Head has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Koivu missing with a left hand there. Blahyi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Blahyi gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Koivu slips under a jab.
Koivu scores with a decent looking hook.
Koivu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Koivu misses with a looping left.
Koivu swats away the attempt to clinch by Blahyi.

Koivu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Blahyi as he avoids it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Blahyi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Davis stuffs the takedown.

Davis misses with a wild body shot.
Davis bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hope moves forwards but Davis connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Davis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hope.
Davis misses with a few strikes there.
Davis throws a sloppy head kick and Hope moves out of range easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hope closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hope goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Davis rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hope's guard! Nice work there by Davis!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hope has his foot on Davis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davis works his way back into a safe position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hope can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hope escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hope is trying to control the position but Davis postures up.

Hope looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Davis has picked Hope up and slammed him! Hope can't keep hold of the triangle and Davis manages to pass to side control!
Hope is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Hope flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hope tries to roll over but Davis keeps him under control.
Davis is thwarting Hope's attempts to control the position.
Davis wants to stand up but Hope is controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hope is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hope is looking to get back to full guard here but Davis has managed to pass to side control instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Harry Davis will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Hope drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Davis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Davis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hope is controlling him.

Hope has gone for a leg lock! Davis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hope's guard.
Hope looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davis is one step ahead there.

Hope has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hope is looking for a sweep. Davis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hope walks into a stiff left hand from Davis.

Davis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hope to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Davis wants to stand up but Hope is controlling him.
Hope is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jonathan Hope showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Hope manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Davis on his heels. He'll look to pass Davis's guard now, I'm sure.

Hope trying to control the position from guard on top but Davis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hope might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Davis kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hope with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hope loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hope postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Davis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hope throws an elbow that misses. Davis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hope's guard. Nice move by Davis!

Hope looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Davis has picked Hope up and slammed him! Hope can't keep hold of the triangle and Davis manages to pass to side control!

Hope is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Davis wants to get back to his feet but Hope is holding on tight.
Hope tries to hold on but Davis pushes him away.

Hope tries to lock up and control but Davis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hope tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jonathan Hope comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hope has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
