Sagoth decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jones feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sagoth sprawling to the canvas! Sagoth rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jones finish him?!

It looks like John Sagoth has been cut.
Jones closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Sagoth out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

On his way into the ring it seems that Jeds Sunga has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jeds Sunga seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

and Sunga makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Tank clinches up with Sunga and pushes him back against the ropes.

Sunga tries to work over Tank's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Tank breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sunga throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Tank moves into the clinch successfully.
Tank lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Sunga tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.

Tank is looking to control Sunga's arms but Sunga gets an underhook and turns him. Now Tank has his back to the ropes.

and Tank rattles Sunga with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Sunga tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Tank dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Sunga stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Giant Tank!
Giant Tank decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Trivieri crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Amular - the referee stops the clock and Trivieri gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Amular. Trivieri manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murphy misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Murphy tries to score with some ground and pound. Peric controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Peric can do anything to dispel that myth.
Peric is not content to let Murphy control the position.
