Excellent takedown into side control there by Garrick. Macello tries to buck Garrick off but Garrick is having none of it. Garrick lands an elbow.
Garrick has hold of Macello's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Macello tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Garrick cranks the arm and Macello screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Macello, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jay Garrick! An out of breath and clearly excited Jay Garrick thanked Blood Bank ($10) for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).

Griffin shoots in for a double leg but Degrizz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Griffin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Forrest Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Griffin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Degrizz throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Degrizz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Degrizz takes a swing at Griffin's ribcage but misses. Nice sprawl there from Degrizz as Griffin shoots in.

Grovinsky is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hansen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Grovinsky to the mat. Grovinsky regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Grovinsky wants to sweep here but Hansen controlling him for the moment.

Mattize Grovinsky dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Nuts regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from MacAskill. MacAskill missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. MacAskill lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. MacAskill trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. MacAskill must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. MacAskill keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nuts's head.
MacAskill is posturing up here but Nuts has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! MacAskill tries to roll out but it's too tight and MacAskill has to tap! Slick submission there by Nuts!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Noel prevents Wong from standing back up.

Attilius is trying to stand up here but Carose is controlling him well. Attilius is trying to escape back to his feet but Carose uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Carose prevents Attilius from escaping the position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A lull in the action here. Attilius is trying to get back to his feet.

Carose prevents Attilius from escaping the position. Carose tries to advance to mount but Attilius denies him. The referee asks Carose politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Carose prefers to stall for the moment though. Carose working the ground and pound from side control. Attilius wants to get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Attilius bucks up and tries to throw Carose off but instead Carose has got his back!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carose just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Attilius is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Good control from Carose.

Corke fails with a takedown attempt. Innaus feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Corke's calf. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Corke misses with a takedown attempt - Innaus sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Vez Innaus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Corke. Innaus slips under a jab. Corke throws a shot from downtown. Innaus moves away and avoids it. Innaus pushes Corke away with a front kick. Corke looks winded! Corke shoots for a takedown but Innaus saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Innaus lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Innaus ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Innaus drops Corke with a big left hand! Corke is injured, injured bad! Innaus jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Larry Foley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Foley throws a combination that misses and Anielski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Anielski slips under a jab. Anielski cracks Foley with a right hand to the side of the head. Foley looks to land a left hand but Anielski moved out of range nicely. Foley misses with a straight right. Anielski ducks under a wild hook from Foley. Anielski cracks Foley with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Anielski connects with a single shot there. This has been an exciting period of action! A telegraphed right hand from Foley misses the target. Foley throws a hook but Anielski avoids it easily. Foley misses with a jab, cross combination.
Foley throws a combination that misses and Anielski counters with a nice kick to the body. Foley falls off balance throwing a combination
and Anielski counters with an outside leg kick.

Foley throws a big shot that misses. Foley scores with a sloppy right hand. Anielski should have avoided that one. Foley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Anielski counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Anielski wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Foley looks winded! Foley throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Anielski counters with a head kick. That will keep Foley thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Foley throws a lazy right hand but Anielski sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Anielski uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Foley. Foley throws a nice looking combination but Anielski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Foley crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Anielski - the referee stops the clock and Foley gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Anielski. Foley manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Foley might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. A nice inside leg kick there by Anielski. That's going to slow Foley down. Anielski's jab looks to have found its range, popping Foley under the eye.

Anielski throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Foley crashing down! Foley tries to stagger back to his feet but Anielski just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Foley asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
