The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serizawa leaves Sztyca with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Sztyca decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Serizawa tries to get to full guard but Sztyca has control of the leg.
Sztyca looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Lister will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
George Looney seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lister tries to clinch but Looney is having none of it.

Looney feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Looney accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
