Soares kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Vida Loka Parte 1. Creed has chosen Welcome To The Jungle as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Creed looks to score with a jab to the body but Soares is just out of range. Soares closes the distance and clinches. Soares lands a right hand that snaps the head of Creed backwards. Soares tries a body shot but Creed blocks it.

Soares's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Creed. Creed avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Soares wants to clinch up but Creed keeps it at a distance. Creed shoots in for a double leg but Soares sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Soares gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Creed to score an easy takedown into full guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Creed accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Dondarrion misses the target. Dondarrion tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Dondarrion misses with a wild body shot. Dondarrion swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Buchanan. Dondarrion misses the jab. Buchanan takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Dondarrion clinches. Buchanan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dondarrion fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Buchanan tries for a takedown but Dondarrion sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Buchanan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dondarrion moves away. Buchanan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dondarrion displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Buchanan. Berric Dondarrion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Buchanan. Dondarrion catches Buchanan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dondarrion connects with a solid leg kick. Dondarrion swinging wildly here.

Buchanan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dondarrion is just riding it out for now. Buchanan eventually gives up the hold. Buchanan wants to take a breather but Dondarrion is having none of it. Buchanan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Buchanan wants to work for an arm triangle but Dondarrion is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
