Dixon drops to his knees and Copout pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Jackson throws a wild body kick that Gracie sees coming a mile off. Gracie misses with a series of wild punches.
A low kick from Gracie is predictable there enabling Jackson to counter with a crisp jab. Jackson drives through and clinches with Gracie against the cage.
Gracie misses with a short punch on the inside. Gracie looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Gracie is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Gracie misses with a punch on the inside.

Jackson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Jackson tries to throw a body punch but Gracie avoids it by throwing Jackson back against the cage. Gracie misses with the head strike.

Jackson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Gracie has picked Jackson up - he's going for a ride! Gracie dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Jackson is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Jackson works his way to full guard. Good work. Gracie sitting in guard here, content to control. Gracie looking to pass the guard. Gracie content to stall in guard here. Gracie trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Gracie preventing the sweep. Jackson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Asshole Gracie wasn't active enough on the ground. Gracie throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jackson counters with a left to the body. We've been told by Jackson's head coaches at Black Hand Gymnasium LV that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Jackson lands with a hook. Gracie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Gracie takes one to the chin there. Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gracie walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jackson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Gracie fails to land the takedown. Jeremy Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Asshole Gracie.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
