Undercard bout

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Warrior kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ultimate Warrior Entrance. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Warrior throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mir was covering up waiting for the punch and Warrior finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Warrior gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mir is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Warrior is working Mir over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Warrior is pushing down on Mir's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mir is fighting to maintain full guard but Warrior has managed to sneak the leg through.
Warrior tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mir.
Mir on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Warrior working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Warrior shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mir is trying to defend but Warrior finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Warrior seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Warrior wants to pass the guard but Mir is keeping the position.
Warrior slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Ultimate Warrior wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Warrior is pressed up against the cage. Mir has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Warrior down to the mat. Warrior avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Warrior looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mir!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mir is trying to work for a sweep but Warrior has mounted him!

Warrior is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mir to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mir shrugs it off.
Ultimate Warrior overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Warrior takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Warrior postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mir looks a forlorn figure.

Warrior postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Mir out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Warrior goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

After the fight, Ultimate Warrior was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Bell connects with a nice looking jab.
Jackson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Bell's corner calls for a 1-2. Bell obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Bell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jackson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bell thuds his right hand into Jackson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Bell lands a head shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bell works over Jackson's head and body with a nice combination.
Bell connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Bell lands a big head kick that sends Jackson tumbling to the mat! Bell takes a step backwards and waves Jackson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Bell throws a series of punches but Jackson avoids them all with ease.

Bell lands a hook that stumbles Jackson back into the cage. Bell follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Jackson to the canvas! Bell pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Jackson has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Diaz throws an overhand right that lands on Groot's shoulder, as Groot tries to avoid the shot.
Diaz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Groot.
Groot moves away from the strike by Diaz.
Groot attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Groot lands with a shot to the body.
Diaz misses with a looping right.
Diaz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Diaz gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nice body punch from Groot.
Diaz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Groot but Groot pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Diaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Groot connects with a leg kick. Diaz looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Diaz lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Groot at a distance.
Groot cracks Diaz with an open hand slap.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Groot, right into the meat.
Groot throws a leg kick which misses Diaz's front leg but catches the back leg as Diaz tries to avoid it.

Diaz takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Diaz misses with a two punch combination.
Diaz is breathing heavily.
Diaz misses with a hook to the body
and Groot makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Groot thows a body kick. Diaz tries to catch it but that hurt him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Groot lands with an uppercut that bounces Diaz off the cage and back into range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Groot. That's going to slow Diaz down.
Crunch! Groot slams his shin into Diaz's torso.
Groot is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Diaz like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Diaz from another fist facial!
