Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Insual Renga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jarek Glaz! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Renga connects with a jab. Glaz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Renga has his foot on Glaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Glaz works his way back into a safe position though. Glaz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Glaz passes Renga's left leg - he's now in half guard. Renga wants to improve his position but Glaz is controlling well.
Glaz is looking to take a break and control but Renga is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Renga looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ground and pound from Glaz. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Glaz is looking to advance position but Renga won't allow it. Renga looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Nice strikes from Glaz there. Glaz slows the pace down in half guard. Glaz tries to pass to full mount but Renga defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Renga looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Renga is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Glaz scores with a couple of nice shots. Glaz lands a big elbow - Renga is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Glaz!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jarek Glaz! A relieved looking Jarek Glaz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
