The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter lands a head kick. Maia smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Maia gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Maia will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Carter up against the cage.

Carter jumps guard and drags Maia to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Maia won't allow Carter to get back to his feet.

Maia gets to his feet - Carter follows without any prompting.
Maia tries to clinch up
and Carter counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Maia is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Carter wants to pass the guard but Maia is keeping the position.

Maia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Maia decides to stand back up. Maia steps back and let's Carter get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Maia shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carter's guard.

Braga closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hamilton circles away.
Braga shoots in and drives through. Hamilton sprawls well.
Hamilton swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Braga.
Braga fails with a takedown attempt.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hamilton creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Hamilton is trying to push Braga away but Braga has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Braga breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Braga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Braga closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Hamilton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hamilton wants it to stay on the feet.

Hamilton bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Braga's head backwards.
Braga has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hamilton finds it's way round the side to connect with Braga's head.
Hamilton on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and Braga counters with a series of strikes. Hamilton will be more careful next time no doubt.

Hamilton has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Braga jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hamilton walks away with a smile on his face. Braga gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
