On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salsa on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Thomas. Thomas obviously looking to wear him down.
A head kick misses from Thomas. A decent looking cross lands there for Salsa. Thomas plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Fuego Salsa has been cut. The fighters circle, before Thomas throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Salsa's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Thomas lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Ash Thomas! A very excited looking Ash Thomas rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alf Alfa! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones throws out a loose jab but Alfa uses good head movement to avoid it. Jones scores with a nice strike. Alfa shoots in but no luck this time. Jones cracks Alfa with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Jones blocks a leg kick. Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Alfa sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jones gets caught flat footed, as Alfa shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Jones throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones working for a triangle but Alfa defends it easily.
Alfa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones is looking for a triangle but Alfa pushes his legs off easily.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Alfa pushes down on Jones's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alfa uses his free foot to push down on Jones's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jones. Alfa is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jones has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Jones is looking to improve his position but Alfa isn't that keen on the idea. Alfa is landing with some decent strikes but Jones is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Jones slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Jones sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Alfa is pressing down on Jones's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jones is holding on for now. Jones tries to roll over but Alfa keeps him under control. Alfa is nestled in close to Jones, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Alfa thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Alfa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily. Alfa wants to free his trapped foot but Jones is holding on for dear life with his legs. Alfa is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones actively working from the bottom here. Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alfa is working away from the top position though. Alfa working the head and body with strikes. Alfa looks to land a strike but Jones avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alfa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Alfa distracts Jones with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Jones keeping moving, preventing Alfa from controlling successfully. Alfa looking to pass the guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jones looking for a guillotine here but Alfa defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alfa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alf Alfa will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Jones scores with a jab to the jaw. Alfa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jones finds it's way round the side to connect with Alfa's head. Jones lands with a straight right. Alfa didn't see that one coming. Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Alfa uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones. Jones connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet. Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Jones! Alfa is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Darnielle swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hart. A looping hook to the body misses from Hart. Darnielle does a little dance to reset his feet. Hart connects with a jab. Darnielle rushes Hart and presses him up against the cage. Hart on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Darnielle lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Hart missing with knees to the body.
Darnielle misses with a short punch on the inside. Hart has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hart tries a body shot but Darnielle blocks it.
Darnielle keeps control of Hart as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Darnielle using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Darnielle throws a head punch that misses. Darnielle gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hart.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Darnielle lands with a short head shot on the inside. Darnielle lands a right hand. Darnielle misses with some punches.

Hart is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Darnielle. Darnielle connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Hart connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Darnielle slips under a jab. Nice jab there from Hart. Hart fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hart throws a left and a right that both miss
and Darnielle connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hart misses with a takedown attempt - Darnielle sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bret Hart. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hart just misses with a punch to the body.
Hart stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Darnielle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hart tries to land a body kick and Hart takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. This has been an exciting period of action! Hart lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Bret Hart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hart scores with a decent looking hook. Hart throws a jab but it's blocked by Darnielle. Hart shoots in for a takedown but Darnielle shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A looping hook to the body misses from Hart. Darnielle does a little dance to reset his feet. Hart looks to land a right hand but Darnielle moved out of range. Hart throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Darnielle takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Darnielle scores with a punch to the head. Hart attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Hart jabbing away but nothing is landing. Darnielle moves out of range of the strikes. Horrible takedown by Hart or perhaps it was just good defense by Darnielle which made him look bad.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice shot lands for Hart. Hart waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Darnielle. Darnielle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hart to the mat! Hart manages to get full guard. Darnielle tries to free his leg and advance position but Hart is retaining full guard. Darnielle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hart has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Darnielle off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Hart scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Hart manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Darnielle on his heels. He'll look to pass Darnielle's guard now, I'm sure. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Darnielle is trying to control the position but Hart postures up. Darnielle throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

It looks like John Darnielle has been cut. Hart throws a leg kick that misses. Hart throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Darnielle. Hart throws a poor cross that misses
and Darnielle counters with a slapping leg kick. A telegraphed right hand from Hart misses the target. Hart throws an off balance right hand
and Darnielle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. An inside leg kick lands from Hart. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hart throws an off balance right hand
and Darnielle counters with a lovely straight right hand! Darnielle tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hart sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Darnielle somewhat.

and Darnielle counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hart's knee momentarily. Hart swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Darnielle keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hart thows a leg kick but Darnielle checks it and Darnielle counters with a nice leg kick. Darnielle blocks a leg kick. John Darnielle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hart is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Darnielle. Hart fails with the takedown and Darnielle counters with a nice uppercut. Darnielle connects with the punch. That's going to take a lot out of John Darnielle. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hart looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Darnielle! Darnielle prevents Hart from improving position. Darnielle struggling a bit here. Darnielle manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

A much better position for Hart. Hart manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Darnielle manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Darnielle has his foot on Hart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hart works his way back into a safe position though. Darnielle seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Hart scoring with some ground and pound. Darnielle is trying to control the position but Hart postures up. Darnielle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hart.

Darnielle is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hart's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hart's back! Hart wants to escape the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hart trying to get back to his feet but Darnielle is in full control for now. Darnielle working for a choke but Hart is defending well. Darnielle controlling well, preventing Hart from escaping the position.
Darnielle is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Hart won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Darnielle off his unconscious opponent!

and Dessler counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Morrow throws a leg kick which misses Dessler's front leg but catches the back leg as Dessler tries to avoid it. Dessler works Morrow's body with a nice hook. Morrow throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Dessler misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Dessler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Morrow swats him away and circles back towards the center. Morrow throws a body punch but Dessler moves out of range. A close second round but Billy Dessler will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Morrow lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Morrow throws a hook to the side of Dessler's head but Dessler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Morrow lands a nice shot to the body.

Morrow is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Dessler's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Crunch! Morrow slams his shin into Dessler's torso. Dessler uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Morrow.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Morrow misses with a right hand and Dessler counters with a head kick. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Morrow looks to score with a jab to the body but Dessler is just out of range. Dessler finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Morrow throws a lazy right hand but Dessler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Morrow swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Morrow connects with a leg kick. Dessler looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Dessler takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Morrow throws a hook but Dessler avoids it easily. Morrow dives in and scores a takedown into Dessler's guard.

Morrow stopping the sweep attempt from Dessler. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dessler pulls Morrow in close to his closed guard and prevents Morrow from doing any damage or advancing position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dessler is on top in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Morrow tries to buck Dessler off but Dessler is having none of it. Dessler working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smyth has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Elkins. Elkins misses with a low kick. Elkins misses with a looping right. Elkins tries to score with a low kick but Smyth moves his leg out of the way. Smyth defending well as Elkins loads up on a big left hand. Smyth looks to score with a jab to the body but Elkins is just out of range. Smyth throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Elkins throws a jab when Smyth was well out of range. Elkins throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Elkins walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Smyth checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Elkins swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Dama feints and as Simpson raises his hands in defense, Dama changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Dama trying to control the position from guard on top but Simpson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Simpson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Simpson tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Dama is desperately trying to improve his position but Simpson has a good base and remains in mount. Dama is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Homer Simpson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Genki Dama. Simpson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Dama is looking for a sweep. Simpson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Simpson gets to his feet - back to striking we go! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Simpson slips a straight right by Dama. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simpson looks to land a right hand but Dama moved out of range. Dama misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Simpson .
That's one minute gone in the round. Simpson throws a lazy right hand but Dama sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Nice sprawl there from Simpson as Dama shoots in. Simpson looks to throw the jab but Dama is out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Dama. Simpson does a little dance to reset his feet. Simpson lands with a kick to the ribs.
Dama misses with a hook. Simpson sizes up Dama with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Dama throws a sloppy head kick and Simpson moves out of range easily. Dama ducks under a wild hook from Simpson . Dama walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Dama takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

A jab from Simpson finds it's way through Dama's defenses. Simpson misses with a hook. Dama throws a wild body kick that Simpson sees coming a mile off. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dama takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Nice shot lands for Simpson . Homer Simpson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dama attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dama. Dama has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Simpson .
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dama thows a body shot but no joy. Simpson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Simpson dips to his left and cracks Dama with an uppercut! Dama scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Simpson doesn't seem bothered though. Simpson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dama looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Simpson throws a nice outside leg kick. Dama throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Dama fails with a takedown attempt. Simpson just misses with a punch to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Dama takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Simpson leaves Dama with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dama. Genki Dama is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Dama checks a low kick from Simpson . Dama's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Simpson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dama scrambles back to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dama thows a body shot but no joy. Dama waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Simpson . As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Simpson just misses with a punch to the body.
