The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Banner.
Glove stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Glove wants it to stay on the feet.
Dynamite Glove has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Alvarez Banner.
No luck for Banner with that takedown attempt.
Glove moves away from the strike by Banner.
Banner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Glove is fending him off so far but Banner persists. Nope, Glove circles away and we're back to standing.

Banner has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Glove is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bruce Alvarez Banner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banner takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Glove tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Banner was well out of range. Poor timing from Glove.
Banner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Horrible takedown by Banner or perhaps it was just good defense by Glove which made him look bad.

Banner ducks right into an uppercut from Glove.

Banner moves into the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Banner is trying to break the clinch but Glove is controlling him.
Banner jumps guard but Glove stands there with Banner around his waist. Banner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Banner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Glove sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Banner somewhat.

Banner ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Banner takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Glove keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Glove defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Banner.

Banner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Glove napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Glove is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Banner asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Glove is in a horrible position here. Banner smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Banner throws a strike there. Glove manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.

Banner closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Glove tries to roll over but Banner keeps him under control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dynamite Glove just wasn't active enough.

and Glove counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Banner has knee on belly momentarily but Glove bucks him off and regains half guard.
Banner is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Glove reverses the position - he's now on top in Banner's guard.

Bruce Alvarez Banner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
