Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Matusow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward comes to the cage accompanied by Break Stuff. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Ward! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Matusow! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ward misses with a takedown attempt and Matusow counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Matusow trying to control the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. It looks like Matusow might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Ward could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Matusow is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ward defends it well. Matusow controlling the action here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mike Matusow hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Ward tries for a takedown but Matusow circles away easily and Matusow counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Matusow trying to control the pace. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ward regains full guard. Nicely done.

Ward might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ward works a leg free and moves into half guard. Matusow is controlling Ward's trapped leg to prevent Ward from advancing to side control.

Matusow is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Matusow wants to pass to mount but Ward is defending the position. Mike Matusow is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Matusow works his way into side control. Matusow controls the position from side control.
