The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smirnov tries to clinch but Rapist moves away and Rapist counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Still in the clinch, Rapist scores with a nice short uppercut. Rapist tries for a takedown. No joy.
Rapist pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rapist avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rapist has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rapist there as he acknowledges the shot. Rapist feints a jab promting Smirnov to slip. Rapist then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Smirnov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Slava Smirnov has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smirnov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rapist. Slava Smirnov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rapist swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Rapist has closed the distance and engaged Smirnov in a clinch.
Smirnov is trying to push Rapist away but Rapist has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Rapist stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Rapist has hold of one of Smirnov's legs. Smirnov is fighting the takedown attempt but Rapist gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Rapist drops back looking for a leg! Smirnov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smirnov manages to kick Rapist off! Rapist jumps back into Smirnov's guard. Rapist advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rapist tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rapist has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Rapist scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Smirnov to see if he's OK. Rapist tries for a kimura but Smirnov is defending well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rapist is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Smirnov is trying to escape and Rapist transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Smirnov is forced to tap! Nice work there by Rapist! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Brutal Rapist! During a confident post fight interview, Brutal Rapist thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee throws a leg kick but Dillon sees it coming and moves out of range. Lee takes one on the button. A big left from Dillon misses. Jab from Lee.
It looks like Kjell Dillon has been cut. Lee lands a leg kick that knocks Dillon off balance momentarily. The fighters circling - Dillon throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Dillon throws a shot from downtown. Lee moves away and avoids it. Lee lands a body shot.

Kjell Dillon's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Lee moves out of range of the strikes. Dillon throws a chopping leg kick but Lee manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Lee is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Lee keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dillon. Lee throws a low kick, looking for Dillon's leg but Dillon calmly moves out of range. Dillon tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lee is able to avoid easily. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dillon checks a low kick from Lee. Lee throws a front kick aimed at Dillon's knee but Dillon avoids it well. Lee throws a body punch but Dillon moves out of range. Dillon throws a series of punches but Lee moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Lee sneaks back into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dillon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gomi moves away from the strike by Ross. Gomi has his takedown stuffed and Ross counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gomi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ross paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ross ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gomi moves away. Gomi fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gomi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ross as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Gomi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ross fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Gomi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ross, pushing him back against the cage. Gomi tries to pull guard but Ross forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Ross lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gomi backwards. Ross lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gomi backwards. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Ross lands with a short head shot on the inside. Hussain is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

Max Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Volkov blocks a low kick nicely. Steel connects with an inside leg kick. Volkov misses with a wild body shot. Volkov thuds his shin into the meat of Steel's side. Steel misses with a leg kick. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Steel. Steel scores with a nice hook to the head. Volkov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Steel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steel throws a leg kick but Volkov sees it coming and checks it nicely. Steel defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Volkov. Max Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vincent Volkov. Steel tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Volkov with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Volkov. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Volkov sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Steel is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Volkov is fighting to break Steel's control of his arms but Steel is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Steel lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Volkov! Steel is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Volkov is aware though and is defending well.
