The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCallister dives in and grabs Phoenix's left leg, looking for a takedown. Phoenix pushes down on McCallister's head and hops out. Phoenix missing with a left hand there. McCallister was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. The fight moves into the clinch position. Phoenix pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. No luck for McCallister with that takedown attempt. Donk. Phoenix catches McCallister right on the button with a cross. McCallister walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Jacob McCallister seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
