These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sudo Syrapudong! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Syrapudong clinches. Syrapudong slowing the pace effectively. Syrapudong with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Syrapudong tries to land a knee to the head but Edwards blocks with his arms.
Syrapudong landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Edwards is looking to take this one to the mat. Syrapudong looking to throw knees to the head but Edwards is blocking nicely.

Edwards tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Edwards wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Syrapudong has him pressed against the cage. Syrapudong tries a knee to the head but Edwards blocks it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rage Edwards. That's going to take a lot out of him. Edwards shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Syrapudong pinned against the cage. Syrapudong gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Syrapudong closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Syrapudong lands a good knee to the midsection. Edwards won't want to take too many of those. Edwards ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Edwards no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Syrapudong wants to stand and escape but instead Edwards has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Syrapudong wants to get back to his feet but Edwards passes into half guard.
Edwards will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Edwards prevents Syrapudong from standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Syrapudong is looking to get back to is feet but Edwards passes into side control.
Syrapudong is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Syrapudong looks winded! Syrapudong takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Edwards scores with a couple of short elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Edwards decides to take the fight back to the feet. Syrapudong closes the distance and clinches. Edwards letting Syrapudong take a breather here. Edwards pulls Syrapudong into guard.
Syrapudong wanted to stand there but Edwards had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Syrapudong wants to control from the top but Edwards keeps moving. Edwards looking for a triangle here. Syrapudong is fighting it but it looks tight! Edwards pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Syrapudong is tapping out - this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kavcic misses with a takedown attempt and Dong counters with a takedown into side control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kavcic tries to improve position but can't. Dong is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kavcic knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Dong is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kavcic is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kavcic gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Dong trying to mount his opponent but Kavcic defends it. Dong prevents Kavcic from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kavcic slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Kavcic manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dong manages to get himself to full guard.

Dong is looking to work some ground and pound but Kavcic has wrist control. Kavcic is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kavcic looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kavcic is looking to take a break and control but Dong is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dong is trying to get back to full guard. Kavcic is keen to just control but Dong is a slippery customer. Kavcic tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dong knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Dong missing with punches from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dong is defending against the submission attempts here by Kavcic.
Kavcic perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Kavcic looking for a guillotine from mount but Dong is having none of it. Kavcic tries to control but Dong wriggling away. Kavcic is looking to work his way around to Dong's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Dong has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Kavcic has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Dong is defending well but eventually Kavcic manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Dong has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
