The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix lands a nice shot that snaps Pedro's head back.
Phoenix catches Pedro with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Revenger Phoenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pedro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Phoenix but Phoenix pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Phoenix lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Phoenix slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Phoenix connects with a body shot.
Pedro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Phoenix sprawls well. Phoenix wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pedro gets slowly back to his feet.

Pedro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Phoenix's waist but Phoenix gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pedro off to one side.

Phoenix lunges at Pedro with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pedro's hand.
Revenger Phoenix is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Phoenix bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pedro's head backwards.
Phoenix fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Phoenix throws a series of strikes that have Pedro backpedaling.
Nice jab there from Phoenix.
Phoenix lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pedro backs up against the ropes.

Pedro is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pedro walks straight into a right hand from Phoenix - that's dropped him! Phoenix jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Pedro from any more punishment! Pedro complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Jinping has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lothick can't do much from the bottom here.

Al Jazeeri looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Mikhalok fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Al Jazeeri, pushing him back against the ropes.
Mikhalok drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mikhalok is fighting off a takedown attempt but Al Jazeeri is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mikhalok to the mat. Mikhalok regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Lifeson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pounder gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pounder slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Lifeson is not content to let Pounder control the position.

Pounder tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pounder has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Pounder wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lifeson keeps working.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pounder working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Pounder is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lifeson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Lifeson is looking to reverse the position.

Pounder has an Americana. Lifeson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Pounder is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Pounder hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
