Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jamie August (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ric Landeverde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jamie August had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Ric Landeverde has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jamie August's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Landeverde gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and August counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by August. Landeverde tries to score a body lock takedown but August shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Landeverde has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed August clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Landeverde has the hooks in. August is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. August has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Landeverde. Landeverde scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Smith throws a strike but Lin avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Lin controlling Smith's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Smith won't allow Lin to sweep him here. Lin keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass. Smith is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lin is controlling Smith's posture. Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lin is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Smith pulls down on the head and he's put Lin to sleep! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice uppercut there from Miller. Miller misses with an uppercut. Ekwall saw that one coming. Ekwall misses the shot to the body. Ekwall wants to clinch up but Miller keeps it at a distance. Miller throws a body punch but Ekwall moves out of range. Ekwall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miller manages to avoid it. Ekwall takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Ekwall shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Miller defends it nicely. Ekwall pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ekwall bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Miller gets in close and instigates a clinch. Miller lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ekwall backwards. Miller misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ekwall is looking to take this one to the mat. Miller scores with a shoulder strike. Miller is pressed up against the cage. Ekwall has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Miller down to the mat. Miller avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Brandon Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wes Ekwall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Miller with a jab. Miller throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ekwall sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ekwall is looking to reverse the position. Miller working away. Miller has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Miller takes the fight into the clinch.
