The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCoy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

McCoy lands a head kick. Euros smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Euros takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
McCoy thows a body shot but no joy. McCoy moves into the clinch. Euros is trying to break the clinch but McCoy is controlling him. McCoy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Thornton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Thornton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Steel keeps working. Steel is looking to escape. Thornton lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Steel is trying to stand up here but Thornton is controlling him well. It looks like Thornton is going to stand back up.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Thornton takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Thornton looks to land a strike but Steel avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Thornton wants to control from the top but Steel keeps moving. Thornton sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Steel doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Thornton paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Steel - great work!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murray tries to clinch but Blimm is having none of it. Blimm ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A left and a right from Blimm both land. Nice combination. Robert Murray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murray will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. No joy there for Blimm, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Blimm lands another huge swinging hook and Murray tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Murray, before Blimm can land any more shots!

Sanders closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sanders decides to return to a standing position. Sanders slips a jab and a cross from Hoppus.

It looks like Matt Sanders has been cut. Hoppus throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sanders. Hoppus tries to bum rush Sanders with a series of wild strikes but Sanders uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hoppus moves in looking to clinch but Sanders pushes him off. Sanders on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. The fight stays on the outside here - Sanders looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sanders shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Hoppus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sanders circles away quickly and effectively. Hoppus misses with a series of wild punches.

He's got his arms around Hoppus's waist but Hoppus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanders off to one side. A combination from Hoppus does no damage. No joy there for Hoppus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Matt Sanders overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hoppus keeping moving, preventing Sanders from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoppus has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Hoppus connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sanders momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hoppus displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. A left and a right from Hoppus both land. Nice combination. Hoppus misses with the combination.

Sanders is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hoppus's half guard. Sanders is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hoppus! Hoppus squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Sanders takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sanders unloading with bombs! Sanders looking to control but Hoppus is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Sanders goes for an armbar but Hoppus turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hoppus. Hoppus throws and elbow that misses. Sanders uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hoppus's guard. Nice move by Sanders! Sanders trying to control but Hoppus is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders stops Hoppus from standing up. Hoppus pushes Sanders off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Mark Hoppus seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sanders throws a sloppy body shot
and Hoppus counters with a lovely straight right hand! Hoppus goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Sanders bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hoppus pushes Sanders away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sanders gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Sanders looking to control but instead Hoppus has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanders lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sanders prevents Hoppus from standing back up.

Mark Hoppus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matt Sanders is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hoppus leaves Sanders with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
