The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Boomberg is defended easily by Damon.
Boomberg moves forwards but Damon connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Damon moves out of range of the body kick.
Boomberg takes a swing at Damon's ribcage but misses.
Boomberg dodges the punch combination from Damon.
Damon lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Damon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Damon cracks Boomberg with a good jab.

Damon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boomberg circles away quickly and effectively.
Damon stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Damon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Boomberg shoots in for a double leg but Damon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ron Damon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Damon drops Boomberg with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Boomberg looks back up at him and smiles so Damon waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Damon connects with a nice cross there... Boomberg is looking wobbly and Damon recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Boomberg to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Damon jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
