More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Ferguson from any more punishment! Ferguson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCullough throws a body kick that misses.
Damtea tries a head kick but it misses.
Danga de danga de dang - McCullough scores with a four punch combination!

Damtea takes the fight into the clinch.
Damtea stops a takedown attempt from McCullough.

Damtea breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McCullough pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Damtea back to the cage. McCullough follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Damtea uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McCullough.
Damtea lands a head shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Damtea dodges the punch combination from McCullough.

Damtea drops McCullough with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but McCullough looks back up at him and smiles so Damtea waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Jack McCullough has been cut.
McCullough fails to land with a series of punches.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Damtea! This one is all over!

Sailo Damtea is the new light heavyweight champion!
In his post fight interview, Sailo Damtea started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
