The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Schantl, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Taylor takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Schantl scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Taylor misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Taylor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Schantl tries to avoid it but Taylor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schantl to the ground. Schantl escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Some wild striking there from Schantl.

Taylor trying to control the position from guard on top but Schantl is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schantl looking to hit a scissor sweep but Taylor is one step ahead there. Taylor drops back, looking for a kneebar! Schantl looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Schantl looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Schantl! You can see the frustration on Taylor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schantl working away. Taylor is breathing heavily. Schantl wants to stand but Taylor is controlling his arm. A lull in the action here. Taylor is trying to control Schantl's posture but Schantl avoids it. Schantl decides to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Schantl lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Schantl. Cem Schantl is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Taylor takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Schantl throws a right and a left that Taylor avoids nicely. Schantl misses with a head kick.
Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Schantl paws at him with a jab and circles away. Schantl comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Schantl punishes Taylor's body with a nice straight punch.

Schantl paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Schantl connects with a good right hand that stumbles Taylor. Taylor circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Schantl sizes up Taylor with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Schantl lunges at Taylor with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Taylor's hand. A lazy left from Schantl finds it's target. Schantl scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Schantl jabs Taylor to the body, keeping him at a distance. Schantl thuds a left hand into Taylor's body. Schantl stalks Taylor and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Taylor's face. Taylor staggers backwards, shaken. Schantl fails to land with a series of punches.
Schantl fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Taylor. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Schantl lands with a cross. Schantl throws a nice looking combination but Taylor bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Schantl throws a series of punches but Taylor moves out of range. Schantl looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A combination from Schantl does no damage. Schantl is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Taylor had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Schantl is working the combinations to good effect here. Taylor checks a leg kick nicely. Schantl misses with a few strikes there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Taylor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Taylor throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Schantl counters with a straight right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

And that's the end of the fight! Cem Schantl comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Schantl has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones tries to clinch up but Dantas circles away and keeps his distance. Jones clinches. Dantas lands a hook that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Jones drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dantas gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dantas gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Dantas tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard. Jones pulls Dantas in close to his closed guard and prevents Dantas from doing any damage or advancing position. Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joe Jones wasn't active enough on the ground. Jones gets a double leg takedown into Dantas's guard. Dantas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dantas connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple. Dantas sitting and controlling from the half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Joe Jones was stalling too much, according to the referee. Jones shoots in for a double leg but Dantas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Joe Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well, if Dantas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Hartlock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corio Paco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hartlock might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Shoot to Thrill - AC/DC. Corio Paco will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paco throws a sloppy head kick and Hartlock moves out of range easily. Paco stuffs the takedown. Paco closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Hartlock blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Hartlock is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Paco to keep the fight standing. Hartlock drags the fight down to the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hartlock is looking for a triangle but Paco pushes his legs off easily.
