The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vics tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lee avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vics is looking to clinch. Vics is looking to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Vics looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lee swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Vics counters with a series of strikes. Lee will be more careful next time no doubt. Lee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vics as he avoids it easily. Lee doesn't manage to clinch there - Vics circles away.

Lee tries to clinch but Vics moves out of range. Vics shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lee napping and manages to drive through into side control! Lee is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vics asserts his dominance and retains side control. Lee explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Lee wants to stand but Vics is controlling the position. Vics must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Vics gets to his feet. Lee looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Vics closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lee quickly recovers to half guard. Vics content to control rather than advance.

Lee fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vics creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Lee successfully pulls guard.
Lee wants to stand but Vics is controlling the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Vics controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Lee is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vics is controlling him. Vics slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. La Vics hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Vics rushes Lee and presses him up against the cage. Vics pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lee keeps the fight on the outside. Vics moves into range and clinches up with Lee. Vics misses with a knee to the head. Lee is trying to push Vics away but Vics has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Vics manages to pull guard.
Lee would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vics seems keen to control Lee's posture. La Vics is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee is looking to stand up but Vics won't let him. Brock Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lee misses with the combination.
Lee wants to clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. Vics lands an elbow just above Lee 's eye. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vics tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lee avoids it. Vics lands a good knee to the midsection. Lee won't want to take too many of those. Vics successfully pulls guard.
And that's the end of the fight! La Vics comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Vics has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hernandez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hernandez has eaten all the pies! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hernandez tries to move into full mount but can't pass Traverse's legs. An elbow from Hernandez crashes against the mat.
Traverse is looking to regain half guard here but Hernandez keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hernandez tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Traverse is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hernandez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Traverse actively working from the bottom here. Traverse is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Traverse looking for submissions off his back. Traverse slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Traverse will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Traverse throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Hernandez looking to sit in guard and control but Traverse gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hernandez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Traverse. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Traverse throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Traverse scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Hernandez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hernandez looking to control.
Traverse passes Hernandez's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Traverse working the head and body with strikes. Traverse has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Traverse looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hernandez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Traverse tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hernandez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Hernandez has hold of Traverse's hands but Traverse slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hernandez defends it well. Traverse trying to pass the guard but Hernandez defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Traverse lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Traverse connects with a nice short shot to Hernandez's temple. Hernandez wants to control but Traverse is keeping busy and won't allow it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hernandez gets full guard. Hernandez looks winded! Traverse stands and throws Hernandez's legs to the side, diving into side control. Traverse lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hernandez down.

Bell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Williams avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bell. Bell stops Williams from getting back to his feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker connects with a right hand. Fist shakes it off. The fighters circle momentarily. Walker darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Jab from Walker. Walker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oooooh!!! Walker has knocked Fist down with a huge combo! Walker steps away and waves a wobbly Fist back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Hammer Fist has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Walker throws a right and a left that Fist avoids nicely. Oh Fist is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jay Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice uppercut lands for Walker. That snapped Fist's head back.
Walker drops Fist with a straight right hand, right on the button! Walker follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Walker! After winning the bout, Jay Walker thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Watermelon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wilson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Steel. Wilson ducks under a wild hook from Steel. Wilson throws the left hand but Steel avoids the punch easily. Fowler feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Js sprawling to the canvas! Js rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Fowler finish him?!
This has been an exciting period of action! Fowler throws a right and a left that Js avoids nicely. Fowler is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Fowler thows a body shot but no joy. Js throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fowler stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Fowler doesn't manage to clinch there - Js circles away.
