The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uda slips under a jab from Jung. Jung dips to his left and cracks Uda with an uppercut!
It looks like Yagi Uda has been cut. A cross from Jung lands.
Uda is rocked! The fight moves into the clinch position. Uda creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jung's defenses. Uda lands a shot to the body. Jung is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Jung has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Uda pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jung rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

It looks like Chan Sung Jung has been cut. Uda lands an elbow inside that Jung shrugs off. Jung is pressed against the cage. Uda pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Jung! Two more big strikes from Uda and Jung crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Yagi Uda decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diggler throws a body punch but Black moves out of range. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Black. Diggler connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Black shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Diggler defends it nicely. Diggler tries a head kick but it misses.
Black throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Diggler's head. Black moves out of range as Diggler strikes. Diggler has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. I think Scott might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to RAWR. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Brandao cracks a nice hook into Scott's ribs. Brandao throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A jab from Brandao misses. Scott moves in looking to clinch but Brandao pushes him off. Brandao lands with an overhand left. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tanaka moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Tanaka closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. James is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. James won't allow The Yeti to sweep him here. James is working The Yeti over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Sergeyev in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burn misses with a few strikes there.
Burn cracks a nice hook into Tanaka's ribs. Burn darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Burn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Burn gets a clinch. Burn works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Tanaka tries to score a body lock takedown but Burn shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Burn misses with a knee to the head. Burn lands a body punch in the clinch. Burn taking a breather. Tanaka goes for a takedown attempt but Burn pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Tanaka lands a nice short elbow. Burn pushes Tanaka off looking to stand but Tanaka dives back in and keeps control.

Tanaka uses his free foot to push down on Burn's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Burn. Tanaka won't let Burn get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Tanaka lands a heavy elbow. Tanaka connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Tanaka has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Burn's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tanaka tries to control but Burn wriggling away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Tanaka is landing with some decent strikes but Burn is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Tanaka with good strikes from the mount here! Tanaka has hold of Burn's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Burn manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tanaka has control of Burn's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Burn regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Burn tries to work over Tanaka's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Tanaka goes for a takedown in the clinch but Burn prevents it.

Tanaka trying to control the action but Burn is working from the bottom. Tanaka scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Burn to see if he's OK. Tanaka thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burn wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shinji Tanaka. I think Tanaka has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
