2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Spider Silva! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance. Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.
Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Silva wants to clinch.
Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Silva! Silva stops Smith from passing to mount. Smith throwing shots but missing, from side control. Sloppy strikes there by Smith. Silva wants to control but Smith postures up. Smith working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.

Smith drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard.
Smith is looking for a triangle here but Silva uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Smith is looking for a sweep. Smith is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Silva off and has taken his back! Silva has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Smith. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I really don't envy Smith right now.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Silva trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Smith manages to reverse the position and now he's in Silva's guard. Nice work there by Smith.

Silva kicks Smith off and gets to his feet. Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Smith dives in and scores a takedown into Silva's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smith. Smith throws a strike but Silva rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target. Chancho Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

 It looks like Chancho Smith has been cut. Smith is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chancho Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Smith has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Silva after a bit of a struggle. Silva landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva working Smith over with knees to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith takes an elbow to the forehead. A knee to the head by Silva.

Smith advances position into side control! Smith in side control, throwing shots but Silva defends. Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Smith throwing strikes but Silva manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Smith decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smith trying to mount his opponent but Silva defends it.

Silva stands up and waves to Smith to follow him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Smith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.  Chancho Smith's cut is getting worse. Smith is trying to pull guard but Silva turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch. Silva putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Smith in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva pulls guard effortlessly. Silva keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass. Smith in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Silva preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Silva holds on and takes a little breather. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Silva controlling Smith's posture. Silva's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
 OK we're going to have a standup here. Spider Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.

Smith swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva. Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Silva fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith. Silva cracks Smith with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.

Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Silva lands a good knee to the midsection. Smith won't want to take too many of those. This has been an exciting period of action! Silva with a knee to the head.

 Chancho Smith's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Silva scores with a knee to the head.

Silva drops Smith with a big knee straight up the middle! Smith is covering up against the ropes but manages to escape and gets back to his feet! The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Silva is looking to clinch.

 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Silva lands a nice elbow. Smith is looking for a takedown. Smith goes for a takedown attempt but Silva pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Silva tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range. Silva tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance. Silva tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Smith has his takedown stuffed
and Silva counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Silva. A nice glancing elbow lands by Silva. A battle for position here, against the ropes. Silva lands an elbow inside that Smith shrugs off. Silva gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
 Jeez, Chancho Smith's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Silva connects with a knee to the head.
Smith is looking for a takedown.
 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Smith wants a takedown.
Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Smith drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva! Smith wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Silva decides to stand up, so the ref orders Smith to his feet. Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
And that's the end of the fight! Spider Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Juventin stuffs the takedown attempt from Bryant. Bryant gets slowly back to his feet. Bryant fails with the takedown. Rancho Juventin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Bryant tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Juventin just stands there and leans against the ropes. Juventin stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riggins lands with an overhand left. Tua takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Riggins keeps the fight on the outside. Riggins fails to land with a series of punches.
Tua fails in his attempt to clinch. Riggins lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tua backs up against the ropes.
 Tua is rocked!
 It looks like Nate Tua has been cut. Tua keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tua is still on wobbly legs! Can Riggins finish him? Tua wants to clinch up but Riggins keeps it at a distance. Tua fails in his attempt to clinch. Tua gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Tua tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Riggins is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Tua buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Tua!! Tua is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Riggins throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tim Riggins! A very excited looking Tim Riggins made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

Ector misses with a looping left. Ector keeps the fight on the outside. Dimas defending well as Ector loads up on a big left hand. Dimas takes one on the chin but seems OK.
 It looks like Alvaro Dimas has been cut. Dimas takes a shot right to the bread basket. This has been an exciting period of action! Ector throws a hook to the side of Dimas's head but Dimas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Dimas tries to clinch there but Ector circles away.
Dimas gets in close and instigates a clinch. Dimas's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Dimas tries to throw a body punch but Ector avoids it by throwing Dimas back against the ropes. Dimas lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Ector tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Ector wants to stall.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kiwi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ryu wants to clinch but Kiwi slips to the side
and Kiwi counters with a shoot takedown. Ryu fights it but they end up in guard. Kiwi passes easily into side control. Nice work. Ryu is not content to let Kiwi control the position. Kiwi works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
