1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nikola Veljanovski! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Veljanovski closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mustison circles away. Mustison defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Veljanovski. Mustison clinches. Veljanovski has Mustison pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Veljanovski pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mustison tumbling to the mat - Veljanovski dives into Mustison's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Mustison bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Veljanovski's guard. Mustison controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Veljanovski seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Veljanovski preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mustison wanted to stand there but Veljanovski had control of the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Veljanovski can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Veljanovski has Mustison pulled in close to control his posture.
Lavar Mustison has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Mustison tries to close the distance and clinch up but Veljanovski swats him away and circles back towards the center. Veljanovski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mustison pinned against the cage. Mustison gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lavar Mustison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikola Veljanovski. Veljanovski closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mustison did well to prevent Veljanovski getting side control. Mustison works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mustison is looking to sinch up a triangle. Veljanovski throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Mustison's body to avoid the submission. Mustison has instead reached around Veljanovski's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Mustison arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vega throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Edwards bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Edwards fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vega lands a slapping body shot.

and Vega makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Vega swats away the attempt to clinch by Edwards. Edwards doesn't manage to clinch there - Vega circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Edwards is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Edwards shoots in but Vega avoids the takedown attempt easily. Edwards closes the distance but Vega moves to the side letting Vega counter with a right hand. Edwards tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Vega manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Edwards is looking to clinch but Vega is avoiding it.

Vega should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Edwards tries to close the distance and clinch but Vega swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Edwards misses with a body shot.
Vega missing with a left hand there. Edwards was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Edwards is looking to clinch but Vega is avoiding it.
Vega throws a nice looking combination but Edwards bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Vega throws a lazy uppercut
and Edwards counters with a lovely straight right hand! Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Edwards misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vega.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edwards tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vega swats him away and circles back towards the center. Vega fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Vega lands a slapping body shot.
Jeremy Vega is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Vega avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vega throws a right hand that Edwards ducks under and follows up with a left that Edwards also avoids with ease. Nice cross by Vega. Vega keeps the fight on the outside.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edwards is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Vega dips to his left and cracks Edwards with an uppercut! Edwards tries to clinch up but Vega circles away and keeps his distance. Edwards wants to clinch up but Vega keeps it at a distance. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vega keeps the fight on the outside. Edwards is looking to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeremy Vega dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Edwards will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Edwards is defended easily by Vega. Vega looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Edwards doesn't manage to clinch there - Vega circles away.
Chris Edwards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vega slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. A nice combination there by Vega.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edwards fails with an attempt to clinch.
Edwards closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vega circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Edwards. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fighters circle momentarily. Vega darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Edwards misses with a straight right. Edwards fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vega throws an overhand right that drops Edwards like a sack of potatoes! Vega dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kroster falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kroster takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Oooooh!!! Salty has knocked Kroster down with a huge combo! Salty steps away and waves a wobbly Kroster back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Salty scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Kroster takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Salty fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Kroster to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Kroster looks to clinch but Salty throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Kroster taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Elmo Salty! A very excited looking Elmo Salty rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

and Santos counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wallace's guard now. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Wallace throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Santos passes Wallace's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Wallace has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Santos escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Santos! Wallace tries to bench press Santos off him but Santos keeps the position. Wallace is trying to work for a sweep but Santos has mounted him! Wallace is desperately trying to improve his position but Santos has a good base and remains in mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Santos controlling his opponent. Wallace is bucking up trying to escape but Santos cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos controlling from the full mount. Santos with a couple of short strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Santos looking to control and managing it successfully. Santos has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Wallace looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Santos! Submission of the night perhaps?
