The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Belle paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Belle fails with the takedown.

Belle shoots in and gets a takedown into Ramos's guard.
Ramos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Belle wants to get back to his feet.
Belle trying to hold on to Ramos's head to control him but Ramos postures up.
Ramos is trying to control. Belle wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ramos tries to pass the half guard into mount. Belle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Belle wants to control but Ramos is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lexi Belle.

and Ramos counters with a nice uppercut.

Belle manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ramos on his heels. He'll look to pass Ramos's guard now, I'm sure.

That was a close round but I would say that Lexi Belle will probably get the nod.

Belle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We're going to have a standup here because Lexi Belle wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Belle closes the distance and clinches up with Ramos, looking for a takedown. Belle pushes Ramos against the cage but Ramos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ramos fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Belle looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Lexi Belle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Belle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ramos to the mat! Ramos manages to get full guard.

Ramos is pulling down on Belle's head. It's preventing any offense from Belle, at least for the moment.

Ramos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Belle's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lexi Belle.
Well Belle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Shields closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shields lands in his opponent's guard.

Shields working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Zed stuns Fister with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Zed stuffs the takedown attempt from Fister. Fister gets slowly back to his feet.
Fister shoots and misses
and Zed counters with a leg kick.
Zed throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Fister on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fister fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zed avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Fister. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters circling a little - Zed finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Zed lands a jab to the head.
Fister takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Zed steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Fister is out on his feet! Zed sets himself and nearly takes Fister's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Sloop gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A lazy left from Sloop finds it's target.
Roberts dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sloop gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roberts takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sloop tries to score a power double leg takedown but Roberts sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sloop somewhat.
Sloop misses with a wild combination.
Sloop swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Roberts misses with a jab, cross combination.
Roberts swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sloop counters with a left and a right that stings Roberts.
Sloop darts in trying to clinch
and Roberts cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Roberts thuds his right hand into Sloop's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sloop throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sloop misses with a wild combination.
Sloop throws a body punch but Roberts moves out of range.
Sloop fails to land with a series of punches.
Roberts keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sloop.
Sloop throws a left and a right that both miss
and Roberts counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A punch lands to the side of Sloop 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Sloop is rocked!
Sloop backs away from a small jab... but Roberts lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Sloop crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Roberts with a spectacular finish!

Our winner, John Roberts, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
