3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Claudiu Lupu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Liam Mainwaring! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lupu tries for a takedown but Mainwaring sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mainwaring tries a head kick but it misses.
Lupu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mainwaring as he avoids it easily. Mainwaring moves into the clinch. Mainwaring wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mainwaring tries to land knees in the clinch but Lupu avoids the damage to the body. Mainwaring lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lupu backwards. Mainwaring lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lupu or not. Mainwaring keeps control of Lupu as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Lupu tries a knee to the head but Mainwaring blocks it.
Lupu breaks the clinch.
An inside leg kick from Mainwaring misses. Lupu will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Claudiu Lupu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mainwaring throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lupu. Mainwaring forces Lupu back against the cage and clinches. The referee is keeping an eye on Mainwaring - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Mainwaring wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Lupu in side control, just content to control the action for now. Lupu circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Lupu fails with a takedown attempt. Mainwaring lands the left hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lupu blocks a head kick by Mainwaring.
Lupu gets tackled into the cage by Mainwaring. Mainwaring maintains the clinch. Mainwaring has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Mainwaring wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lupu has him pressed against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lupu has Mainwaring pressed against the cage, preventing Mainwaring from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Lupu tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mainwaring just stands there and leans against the cage. Mainwaring is pressed up against the cage. Lupu has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mainwaring down to the mat. Mainwaring avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Mainwaring fails to land with a series of punches.

Mainwaring tries to clinch and Lupu counters by clinching up. Lupu has picked Mainwaring up - he's going for a ride! Lupu dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Mainwaring looks like he's trying to stand up.

Lupu misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Lupu wants to control but Mainwaring is keeping him busy. Mainwaring wants to get back to his feet but Lupu drags him back down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lupu sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mainwaring is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Mainwaring really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lupu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mainwaring is letting Lupu control him for a moment. Mainwaring tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Mainwaring is breathing heavily. Lupu wants to control the pace but Mainwaring is squirming around nicely. Poor strikes thrown by Lupu there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lupu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lupu looking to ground and pound but Mainwaring is blocking nicely. Lupu tries to control but Mainwaring wriggling away. Lupu won't let Mainwaring get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Lupu working for a guillotine from mount but Mainwaring is in no mood to give up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mainwaring is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Lupu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mainwaring avoids it really well and circles away. Lupu dives in and grabs Mainwaring's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mainwaring pushes down on Lupu's head and hops out. Mainwaring misses with a head kick.

Mainwaring pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Mainwaring closes the distance but Lupu moves to the side and Lupu counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Mainwaring! Lupu works to advance to full mount. Mainwaring defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Mainwaring is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Lupu has taken his back! Lupu is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Mainwaring up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lupu is looking for a choke. Mainwaring gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Mainwaring manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard. Mainwaring must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lupu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mainwaring is one step ahead there. Mainwaring tries to stand but Lupu is controlling from the bottom. Lupu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mainwaring is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Mainwaring takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Lupu quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Lupu but it's paid off an Mainwaring is forced to tap! Nice work by Lupu.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ivanovski looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Yildiz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ivanovski napping and manages to drive through into side control! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Ivanovski is looking for a sweep. Yildiz working the strikes but Ivanovski uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Yildiz scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Yildiz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Ivanovski is staying active underneath Yildiz, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Well Yildiz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Gribov. Gribov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gribov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tiny avoids it really well and circles away. Gribov comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Gribov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gribov throws a right hand that Tiny ducks under and follows up with a left that Tiny also avoids with ease. Gribov checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Gribov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tiny's half guard. Gribov seems to be working for a kimura but Tiny defends the submission attempt. Gribov slips a nice elbow through Tiny's hands, connecting with Tiny's forehead.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Gribov works his foot free and advances to mount. Gribov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gribov controlling from the full mount. Gribov pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Gribov lands a big shot there that rocks Tiny but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gribov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

This is bad for Tiny! Gribov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tiny's face.
