11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Lii! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lii avoids it really well and circles away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Lii pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gracie swings widly with a right hand
and Lii counters with a left and a right that stings Gracie. Gracie misses with a looping left. Lii throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily. No luck for Gracie with that takedown attempt. Lii misses with a head kick.

Lii is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.
The crowd cheers as Lii lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gracie doesn't seem phased though. Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Lii which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lii forces Gracie back against the cage and clinches. A short right from Lii. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lii's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Lii sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Lii goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Gracie takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Gracie misses with a takedown attempt and Lii counters with a stiff right hand. Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Lii counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gracie looks for a takedown but Lii sprawls well. Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into Lii's guard. Gracie slips nicely into half guard. Ground and pound from Gracie. Lii is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nowak darts in and clinches Abbiati up against the cage. Abbiati tries to work over Nowak's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Abbiati unloads a knee to the mid-section. Nowak lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Abbiati goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Abbiati can't find room to land a body shot as Nowak controls the action.
Abbiati scores with a hook to the body. Nowak managing to block the knees to the body from Abbiati.
Nowak jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Abbiati walks away with a smile on his face. Nowak gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Abbiati doesn't manage to clinch there - Nowak circles away.

Nowak tries to land a sweep but no joy. Abbiati wants to stand but Nowak has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Abbiati wants to control from the top but Nowak keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nowak looking for subs off his back but Abbiati has passed one foot through into half guard.

Nowak looks to land a strike but Abbiati avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Nowak stops Abbiati from standing up. Nowak is pushing down on Abbiati's leg trying to pass to half guard. Abbiati is fighting to maintain full guard but Nowak has managed to sneak the leg through. Nowak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Abbiati keeps working. Abbiati tries to roll over but Nowak keeps him under control. Nowak is looking for a kimura but Abbiati is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nowak to get the leverage. Nowak is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Abbiati sees it coming and defends easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nowak looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Nowak not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Nowak misses with a head shot. Abbiati uses the momentum to regain guard. Nowak trying to control the position from guard on top but Abbiati is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nowak throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Abbiati works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Abbiati wants to sweep but no luck. Nowak trying to control the position from guard on top but Abbiati is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nowak stands and steps away. Abbiati gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nowak keeps the fight on the outside. Abbiati rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nowak moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nowak circles away from the clinch attempt and Nowak cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abbiati scores with a jab to the jaw. Abbiati tries to clinch and Nowak counters with a shoot takedown. Abbiati fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nowak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Abbiati swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nowak stands and throws Abbiati's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nowak is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Abbiati has escaped the position, nice work there. Abbiati struggling a bit here. Nowak lands some shots froms side control. Abbiati tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nowak tries for a kimura but Abbiati is defending well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nowak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Abbiati is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Abbiati tries to escape but Nowak is in control.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zivic moves into the clinch. Zivic is trying to break the clinch but Karkmananis is controlling him. Zivic breaks the clinch.
Karkmananis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zivic manages to avoid it. A looping hook to the body misses from Zivic. Karkmananis does a little dance to reset his feet. Zivic moves out of range as Karkmananis throws a body kick.

enabling Zivic to counter with a crisp jab. Zivic chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Karkmananis can pounce on him.
Karkmananis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Karkmananis moves in looking to clinch but Zivic pushes him off. Zivic lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Nicolas Karkmananis has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Zivic feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Karkmananis sprawling to the canvas! Karkmananis rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Zivic finish him?!
Karkmananis is rocked! Karkmananis is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Zivic doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Karkmananis crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Karkmananis's bad books for that mishap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Fritzie Zivic! Fritzie Zivic decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Black looks to land a right hand but Cain moved out of range. Cain throws a nice looking combination but Black bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Black misses with the combination.
Cain slips a jab from Black. A jab from Black does it's job there. Emerson Cain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cain lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Left hook, right uppercut from Cain. Black throws a series of punches but Cain moves out of range. Black throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cain was covering up waiting for the punch and Black finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Cain is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Black is aware though and is defending well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Black in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cain throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Cain pushes a forearm under Black's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Black is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tomson Jr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bob throws out the jab. Tomson Jr connects with a looping right hand.

It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tomson Jr manages to end up in side control. Bob is not content to let Tomson Jr control the position. Tomson Jr advances to full mount. Tomson Jr has hold of Bob's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bob manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
