5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Elroy Kidd! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kidd keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Longone displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kidd. Kidd has his takedown stuffed and Longone counters with a single leg into guard. Kidd didn't expect that. Longone will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kidd trying to strike off his back.
Kidd throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kidd looks for a takedown but Longone sprawls well. Longone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Longone shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kidd napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kidd throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Longone grinds an elbow into Kidd's temple. Kidd takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kidd looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kidd will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Beetswatsi Longone. I think Kidd has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Dominatus trying to control the position from guard on top but Pico is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dominatus is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Dominatus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Dominatus is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pico is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pico has escaped and now he's on top! Pico must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jontop throws the kick towards the body but Fernhart avoids it. Jontop throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fernhart. Jontop takes a body punch but keeps moving. Fernhart leaves Jontop with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Fernhart tries to bum rush Jontop with a series of wild strikes but Jontop uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fernhart shoots in and gets a takedown into Jontop's guard. Hugh Jontop is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jontop walks straight into a right hand from Fernhart - that's dropped him! Fernhart jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Jontop from any more punishment! Jontop complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

That will dishearten Tso somewhat. Tso is still on wobbly legs! Can Edwards finish him? Tso rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Edwards counters with a good, hard body kick but Tso shrugs it off. Tso doesn't succeed with the takedown and Edwards rattles Tso with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Tso tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Edwards dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Tso stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mark Edwards! A very excited looking Mark Edwards rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
