The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandao fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shueryuken dodges the punch combination from Brandao.
Shueryuken moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Brandao misses with an uppercut.
Shueryuken is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Brandao and Shueryuken goes tumbling to the canvas! Brandao follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Shueryuken wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Shueryuken is looking to regain half guard here but Brandao keeps moving and retains side control.
Brandao is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I think Balboa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Linkin Park - Bleed It Out . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
