The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corrigan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Corrigan working away. Vega is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Corrigan's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Vega is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Corrigan pulls his head out easily. Corrigan trying to mount his opponent but Vega defends it. Corrigan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vega on the ground. Vega makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vega. Corrigan is breathing heavily. Vega manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Corrigan manages to get himself to full guard.
Corrigan controls Vega momentarily but Vega frees himself. Vega pushing down on Corrigan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Vega not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Vega is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Vega passes to side control. Corrigan is not content to let Vega control the position. Vega is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Corrigan has escaped the position, nice work there. This has been an exciting period of action! Vega looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Church throws the kick towards the body but Chang Sook avoids it. Church lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Church throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Chang Sook stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Church gets the takedown into side control. Church decides to stand back up. Church looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Chang Sook is looking to escape. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Church connects with a nice short shot to Chang Sook's temple. Skip Church overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Church scoring with strikes to the body and head. Church seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Skip Church is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Chang Sook has hold of Church's hands but Church slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Church lands with a punch from half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Guy Hennequano hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Good leg kick by Beam there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beam moves in looking to clinch but Hennequano pushes him off. Beam moves out of range as Hennequano strikes. Hennequano feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Beam wants to stand but Hennequano is controlling the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Beam wriggles free and stands up. Beam tries to close the distance and clinch but Hennequano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hennequano circles away from the clinch attempt and Hennequano connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hennequano looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Beam is fending him off so far but Hennequano persists. Nope, Beam circles away and we're back to standing. Beam tries to clinch but Hennequano moves away and Hennequano counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Beam wants to get back to his feet but Hennequano passes into half guard.
Hennequano decides to stand and escape the position. Hennequano looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Beam tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Hennequano manages to move to mount!

Hennequano won't let Beam get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Hennequano tries to control but Beam wriggling away. Beam is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hennequano with good strikes from the mount here! Guy Hennequano has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jack Beam is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hennequano looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doc Evil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shawn McShane! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McShane fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Evil manages to avoid it. Evil throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Evil ducks under a wild hook from McShane. A momentary lapse in concentration from Evil enables McShane to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Evil manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. McShane throws a strike but Evil rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Evil won't allow McShane to sweep him here. McShane utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Evil loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Evil missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Evil throwing strikes but missing. Evil in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Evil knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McShane on the ground. McShane has his foot on Evil's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Evil works his way back into a safe position though. McShane has Evil pulled in close to control his posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Evil missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evil scoring with punches to the head and body. Evil is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. McShane looking for a sweep. Not yet McShane, not yet. McShane keeping moving, preventing Evil from controlling successfully. McShane is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McShane has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. McShane looking to sweep here. No luck so far. McShane trying to control the position.

This has been an exciting period of action! McShane is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Evil is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Evil throwing strikes from guard but McShane blocks nicely. McShane controlling Evil's posture. Evil stopping the sweep attempt from McShane. Evil postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Evil lands a big head kick that sends McShane tumbling to the mat! Evil takes a step backwards and waves McShane back to his feet - he wants the finish! He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Evil throws a quick inside leg kick. McShane throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Evil sees it coming and avoids it easily. McShane looking to score a takedown here. Evil is defending well but McShane drives through and ends up in Evil's guard. Evil is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Evil is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McShane is controlling him. McShane trying to control but Evil is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. McShane might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Evil haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. McShane controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Shawn McShane. McShane lands with a good body shot. A nice leg kick lands there from Evil. Evil slips a straight right by McShane.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Evil lands an impressive looking overhand right. McShane doesn't seem phased though. Nice sprawl there from Evil as McShane shoots in. McShane misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Evil counters with a nice low kick that buckles McShane's knee momentarily. Shawn McShane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Evil misses with a head kick.

and Evil counters with a head kick that drops McShane to the mat! McShane scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
McShane is rocked! Crack! Evil connects with the perfect overhand right and McShane falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Evil!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severn tries for a takedown but Gun circles away easily and Gun makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Gun lunges at Severn with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Severn's hand.
It looks like Dan Severn has been cut. Gun throws a head kick that half lands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Severn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Severn looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Gun wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Severn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Severn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Severn thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Severn misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

A very excited looking Dan Severn made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet.
