Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Huerta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Travis Faure! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huerta throws a low kick but Faure avoids it. Faure closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Huerta avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Faure. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Faure throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Huerta works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Faure is working for a submission of some sort.
Faure thows a huge punch but Huerta dodges it nicely.
Huerta regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Faure. Faure throws an elbow that misses. Huerta uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Faure's guard. Nice move by Huerta! Faure is working an open guard so Huerta takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faure avoids a low kick by using good footwork. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Faure. Faure looking to score a takedown here. Huerta is defending well but Faure drives through and ends up in Huerta's guard. Huerta working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Faure. Huerta utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Faure accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Faure stops Huerta from standing up. Faure working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Faure advances position into side control! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Faure tries for a kimura but Huerta is defending well. Faure working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. That's three minutes gone in the round. Faure creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Huerta sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Faure working the head and body with strikes. Faure in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Faure is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Huerta has escaped the position, nice work there. Faure scoring with punches from side control. Faure has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Huerta is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Faure yanks on the arm and Huerta is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Faure.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lagoo tries to clinch but Walker moves out of range. Lagoo moves into the clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Lagoo as Walker tries to tie him up. Lagoo stalling in the clinch.
Lagoo tries to circle away but Walker has him pinned against the cage. Lagoo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Walker is trying to stall.
Lagoo stalls. Lagoo seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Lagoo lands an uppercut. Walker dodges an elbow strike from Lagoo.

Lagoo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Lagoo throws a right and a left that Walker avoids nicely. Walker misses with a looping right. Lagoo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Walker sprawls well initially but Lagoo persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Walker is looking for a sweep. Lagoo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lagoo wants to free his trapped foot but Walker is holding on for dear life with his legs. Lagoo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Walker is just riding it out for now. Lagoo eventually gives up the hold. No luck with that takedown attempt from Lagoo. Walker seems to have recovered his senses. Walker wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Walker tries to keep at a distance but Lagoo has taken the fight into the clinch. Lagoo is trying to pull guard but Walker turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. We're going to have a standup here because Sasha Lagoo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Lagoo lands a really nice looking cross but Walker seems unphased.

Yuudai shoots in looking for a takedown but Man manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Yuudai's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Man throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Man shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Man buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Mifsud finds Wazed's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Wazed flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Mifsud lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Wazed will be OK.
