The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Portier moves into range and clinches up with Okam. Portier tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Okam's elbow. Portier swings wildly with an uppercut but Okam uses good head movement to avoid it. Portier misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Okam misses with a straight left. Okam tries to move into range but Portier moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
It looks like Thor Okam has been cut. Thor Okam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Okam moves out of range as Portier throws a body kick.
Okam scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Portier doesn't seem bothered though. Decent striking displayed by Okam there. Portier takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Okam stalks Portier and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Portier's face. Portier staggers backwards, shaken. Thor Okam seems to be getting the better of the standup. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A nice inside leg kick there by Okam. That's going to slow Portier down. Okam misses the shot to the body. Portier checks the leg kick nicely there.

Okam falls back against the cage and Portier unloads with a barrage of strikes! Okam is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Portier screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ibakka waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ji. Ji shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ibakka napping and manages to drive through into side control! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Ji working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ibakka is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ji slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Ji is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ibakka has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Ji is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ji is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ibakka is aware though and is defending well. Ibakka has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ibakka won't allow Ji to sweep him here. Ji escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ibakka gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ibakka got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ji has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ibakka has managed to get both his arms back between Ji's legs - danger averted.

DJango Ibakka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ji with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ibakka to score with a decent uppercut. Ji is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ibakka. Jab, jab by Ibakka - just one landing. Ji is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ibakka. A combination from Ji does no damage. An inside leg kick from Ji misses. Ji is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Ibakka scores with a punch to the head. Ji throws a series of punches but Ibakka moves out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ji shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ibakka as he jumps to the side. Ji is breathing heavily. Nice shot lands for Ibakka. Ibakka explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Ibakka is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Ibakka lands a nice looking body kick. Ibakka misses with an uppercut. Ji saw that one coming.

Ji takes one to the chin there. Ji on the wrong end of a nice jab. Ji throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ibakka throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Kharlamov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vieri manages to avoid it. Vieri throws a quick inside leg kick. Kharlamov clobbers Vieri with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Vieri thuds his right hand into Kharlamov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Vieri shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kharlamov pinned against the cage. Kharlamov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Vieri wants to land a leg kick but Kharlamov is out of range. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
