The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamas drives through with a takedown into Balboa's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Lamas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lamas prevents Balboa from getting back to his feet. Lamas slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lamas lands a few punches from side control. Lamas prevents Balboa from escaping the position. Lamas decides to stand back up. Lamas steps back and let's Balboa get back to his feet. Lamas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! Balboa taking some punishment here, with Lamas in his half guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oliveira is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hassan's half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Oliveira thows a huge punch but Hassan dodges it nicely.
