The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Scritsmier misses its intended target.
Scritsmier tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Colon was well out of range. Poor timing from Scritsmier.
Scritsmier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Colon circles away quickly and effectively.
Sylvester Scritsmier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Colon showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Scritsmier.
Scritsmier will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Colon has his foot on Scritsmier's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Scritsmier works his way back into a safe position though.

Scritsmier drops back, looking for a kneebar! Colon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Colon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Colon!
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Colon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Colon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Colon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That was a close round but I would say that Sylvester Scritsmier will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Amran Aliyev.
