0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Novak Zangief! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zangief throws a head kick that misses. Zangief scores with a kick to the midsection. Zangief tries a head kick but it misses.
Zangief throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily. Zangief moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Zangief throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Maia shoots in for a double leg but Zangief sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Zangief throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Zangief pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Zangief lands a front kick. Maia walks forward, straight into a front kick from Zangief. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Zangief tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maia takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Zangief tries a head kick but it misses.
Zangief goes for a high kick. It partially lands. A solid body kick from Zangief. Maia takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Zangief lands a nice leg kick that just misses Maia's sensitive parts. Crunch! Zangief slams his shin into Maia's torso. Maia is breathing heavily. Maia blocks a head kick by Zangief.
Maia drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Zangief keeping moving, preventing Maia from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maia passes into half guard. Maia is trying for a kimura here. Zangief looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Maia wins by kimura!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Medeiros lands with a good body shot. Medeiros throws a series of strikes that have Barysas backpedaling.
Medeiros shoots in but no luck this time. Barysas misses with a wild body shot. Barysas walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Medeiros checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Medeiros lands with a shot to the body. Medeiros fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Barysas misses with an attempted mid kick.
Barysas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Barysas gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Medeiros. Medeiros dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Medeiros throws a shot to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Medeiros stalks Barysas and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Barysas's face. Barysas staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Medeiros lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Medeiros lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Barysas backs up against the cage.
Barysas throws a sloppy head kick and Medeiros moves out of range easily. Barysas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Medeiros.
Barysas is looking to land body kicks. Barysas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Medeiros sizes up Barysas with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Barysas did well to prevent Medeiros getting side control. Barysas is looking to escape. Still in half guard, Medeiros seems content to control. Barysas looks like he's trying to stand up.

Left hook, right uppercut from Medeiros. Medeiros shoots in but no luck this time. Ignas Barysas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Medeiros. Medeiros has a takedown stuffed. Barysas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Medeiros jabs Barysas to the body, keeping him at a distance. Medeiros checks the leg kick nicely there.

Medeiros closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Medeiros content to control rather than advance.

Medeiros is figuring out what he wants to do next. Medeiros stops Barysas from getting back to his feet.

Medeiros closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Medeiros lands in his opponent's guard. Medeiros engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Medeiros prevents Barysas from getting back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Medeiros feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Barysass jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Barysas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Medeiros cracks Barysas with a good jab. Barysas misses with a few strikes there.
Medeiros feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Medeiros advances position into side control! Medeiros is staying tight to Barysas's torso, preventing him from escaping. Barysas is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Medeiros asserts his dominance and retains side control. A lull in the action here. Jose Medeiros has got the better of the ground game so far. Barysas pushes Medeiros away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Medeiros gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barysas is letting Medeiros control him for a moment. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Barysas is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Medeiros asserts his dominance and retains side control. Medeiros happy to just control the position for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jose Medeiros was stalling too much, according to the referee. Medeiros gets a takedown into half guard. Barysas is in trouble now - Medeiros has advanced to mount! Medeiros content just to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barysas tries to buck Medeiros off but he can't manage it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Medeiros looking to control and managing it successfully. Let's hope that Medeiros has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Medeiros cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Medeiros content just to control the position here. Medeiros has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Barysas really wants to buck Medeiros off and get back to his feet.

Medeiros cracks Barysas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Barysas is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Medeiros tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barysas wants to try and get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Medeiros showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Barysas drops his hands momentarily and Medeiros takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Medeiros smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Medeiros scores with a hook. Barysas walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Barysas throws a head kick but Medeiros moves out of range.

Medeiros tries for a takedown but Barysas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Medeiros paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Medeiros takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Jose Medeiros is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. And that's the end of the fight! Jose Medeiros comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Medeiros has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pablo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pablo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A lazy left from Von Hove finds it's target.
It looks like Daniello Pablo has been cut. Von Hove moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Von Hove will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Von Hove buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A head kick by Von Hove - that's a beauty! Pablo is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Von Hove can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Andre is looking to take a break and control but Corpsegrinder is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Corpsegrinder is looking for a sweep. Andre works to advance to full mount. Corpsegrinder defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Corpsegrinder working to try and regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Andre lands a couple of decent looking shots. Andre tries to free his leg and advance position but Corpsegrinder is retaining full guard. Andre missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Andre trying to control but Corpsegrinder is working from the bottom. Corpsegrinder keeping full guard, as Andre tries to pass. Corpsegrinder has his foot on Andre's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Andre works his way back into a safe position though. Corpsegrinder not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Andre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. That's four minutes gone in the round. Andre sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Corpsegrinder's guard. Andre with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Corpsegrinder wants to get back to his feet.
Corpsegrinder has hold of Andre's hands but Andre slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Andre is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stirling scores with a hook to the body. Matrix takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Stirling tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Matrix paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stirling lands a jab to the nose. Matrix just misses with a punch to the body.
Matrix walks into a left hand. Matrix takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Good exchange - Stirling coming out on top. A low kick from Matrix is predictable there and Stirling connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Stirling takes a shot to the body in his stride.
